Chapter 1149: Contract Signing (Part 2)
The blood flowing from Pei Yan and Hu Jiu, man and dog, slowly trickled through the blood grooves, converging in the central blood pool. Surprisingly, the originally crimson blood, after merging in the center of the blood pool, under the influence of that blood-colored contract talisman, emitted a faint golden light. The contract talisman, enveloped by the blood aura, hovered in mid-air, reflecting brilliantly with the blood pool below."Pei Yan, you need to maintain your consciousness and regulate your source energy. You should control it so that Hu Jiu’s breathing frequency matches yours. This shouldn’t be difficult for you now," Lin Junzhao gently advised Pei Yan, whose eyes were opening and closing intermittently as he lay in the stone trough.
For Pei Yan, who usually excelled in energy manipulation, controlling source energy was undoubtedly an easy task. However, as his own vital blood and source energy uncontrollably flowed into the blood pool, the sensation of soreness and swelling faded, but the dizziness from blood loss began to invade his mind wave after wave. Encouraged and urged on by Lin Junzhao’s words, he had no choice but to muster all his spirits, focus his attention, and begin to regulate his own source energy breathing frequency to achieve harmony with Hu Jiu nearby.
The process lasted for two and a half hours. When the shallow blood pool was filled with the blood flowing from Pei Yan and Hu Jiu, the golden contract talisman suspended in mid-air slowly descended into the blood pool. At this moment, influenced by the essence of a Master of Origin, all the blood in the pool turned golden. By then, both Pei Yan and Hu Jiu had fallen into semi-unconsciousness due to excessive blood loss.
At this moment, Pei Yan no longer needed to guide the contract. It had perfectly merged their blood and source energy. From the moment the symbiotic contract was achieved, the golden blood began to flow backward, following the blood groove back into the stone troughs on both sides. The golden blood, upon touching their skin, didn’t need to contact any wounds; it seeped back into Pei Yan’s body through the pores of the skin. With a continuous and even injection of golden blood, Pei Yan’s pale complexion started to improve, and as his weak breathing gradually stabilized, his expression relaxed, and both he and Hu Jiu slipped into a deep sleep, oblivious of their surroundings.
"The ritual is finally complete." The Ancestral God approached Hu Jiu, gently stroked its fur still stained with blood, and, feeling the Six Paths Origin Aura that originally did not belong to it, expressed a delighted excitement.
"Phew! Although we both gained from this contract, in the end, your descendants have received more benefit than mine, ha ha ha! Ancestral God, compared to us, who are constantly vying for power and profit, you remain silent but, when you act, you manage to seize such a tremendous advantage for yourself."
Listening to Lin Junzhao’s teasing words, the Ancestral God sighed and said, "Alright, I understand what you mean! Rest assured, I will fulfill the promise I made to you. Now that Pei Yan has become stronger, so my child becomes stronger. We are truly bound together on the same war chariot now."
"That is true. I really can’t wait to see the expressions on those two annoying guys after this matter concludes." The Ancestral God, abandoning his usual neutral stance, was very satisfied, and the day Pei Yan achieved greatness, Lin Junzhao wondered if it would really be as she imagined—breaking through the limits of humanity. The thought of such a possibility made Lin Junzhao eager to put her ideas into action.
"What we must do now is find a place to settle them down. In their current state, they’ll likely sleep for ten days or so. Once we arrange them properly, I’ll utilize this time to head off to the Daoist Realm and accomplish the task you wish to see done," the Ancestral God said while tapping into the void. Hu Jiu’s body then floated, suspended beside the Ancestral God.
"Alright!" Lin Junzhao agreed and casually pointed at Pei Yan. After Pei Yan’s body floated, she followed the Ancestral God, and their group vanished into the cave.
"What did you say? The Ancestral God and Lin Junzhao have both left the Dragon Realm?" Two days later, in a secret base of the Dark Race, Nero, who was waiting for an opportunity to act, was startled by this news shared by Fafnir: "Are you sure?"
"It’s certain; this is reliable information from our inside source. The two Masters of Origin jointly left the Dragon Realm just a day ago," Fafnir replied truthfully.
"What about Pei Yan? Has Pei Yan left?" Bai Ze, who had been reading inside the room, closed his book and stood up to ask.
"No sight of him!" Fafnir shook his head, pondering for a moment before uncertainly stating, "He should still be in the Dragon Realm."
"Why would the Ancestral God leave?" Nero murmured to himself, sitting back down on his chair in disbelief. His mentor, the Candle Dragon, had already discovered through various means that the former Saraf was still alive, guessing that the Ancestral God intended to use this flesh body as a vessel before the great war. Pei Yan’s arrival had been part of his calculation, awaiting the Ancestral God to unseal Saraf for capture, when he could not maintain the stable formation and was thus, vulnerable for executing the plan to lure the Dragon King.
But now, rather than preparing to capture Saraf, the Ancestral God had left the Dragon Realm with Lin Junzhao. What kind of play is this?
"Could it be a trap?" Understanding Nero’s concerns, Bai Ze hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"A trap? Ha ha ha!" Nero said with self-mockery, looking at Bai Ze: "It’s possible, but for two Masters of Origin to set a trap for us overestimates us, don’t you think?"
"Precisely! Given their power, if they were aware of our existence, we’d be lucky just to escape with our lives if they acted directly." Adjusting his newly installed mechanical arm on the chair, Ivan interjected with a bitter smile.
"Perhaps the two Masters of Origin intend to capture us all at once, luring all the hidden members of the Dark Race out to eradicate any future threats." The thought of possibly being targeted by the two Masters of Origin left Fafnir’s voice trembling.
"Don’t scare yourself without concrete intel!" Nero reprimanded him, looking towards Bai Ze to seek his opinion.
Both students of the same mentor, Bai Ze, who became a Child of Origin after Nero, had entered their lessons before him. Becoming a Child of Origin made Nero feel he had surpassed Bai Ze in their mentor’s favor, yet judging by the outcomes of handling many matters, their mentor evidently trusted Bai Ze more, leaving Nero with feelings of dissatisfaction yet powerless to change it.
Thus, while Nero outwardly remained the commander of this operation, Bai Ze secretly directed it. Seeing Nero looking towards him, Bai Ze contemplatively responded, "Isn’t Pei Yan still left behind? If this is a trap, taking Pei Yan with them would have boosted our confidence to attack even further, wouldn’t it? Or have they judged that Pei Yan is actually our target, using him as bait? If that’s the case, then leaving Pei Yan shouldn’t be shrouded in stealth; he should be out and about. All of this is too strange!"
