Chapter 1041 Another Trouble
Chapter 1041 Another Trouble
Kyoto in the middle of the night was shrouded in an eerie moonlight.
Fujita Ying led Yamamoto Satoshi and several carefully selected students and quietly left the house. They all changed into dark kimonos and walked very lightly in order not to attract attention.
"Sir," Inoue asked in a low voice, "will Yamaguchi Company really support us?"
Fujita Ying did not answer immediately, but just made a gesture to keep quiet. On the street ahead, there was the sound of orderly footsteps - a patrol team of soldiers was approaching.
"Hurry, this way." Yamamoto Satoshi led everyone into a dark alley. The damp walls were covered with moss, and the air was filled with a rotten smell.
Soldiers holding lanterns passed through the alley. The firelight cast flickering shadows on the wall, and everyone held their breath. A young student was so nervous that his palms were sweating. Fujita Ying gently pressed his shoulders and silently comforted him.
When the footsteps faded away, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. But they knew that this long night had just begun.
"There are many more people who are unsophisticated than before," Tanaka whispered, "Have they noticed something?"
"No," Fujita Ying's voice remained steady, "They are just driven by their own fear. Tyrants are always like this. The more guilty they are, the more they will use force to cover it up."
They continued to walk through the intricate alleys. The moonlight was cut into pieces by the tall buildings and projected onto the muddy ground. Occasionally, a wild cat would jump out from the garbage dump, startling the young people.
Yamamoto Satoshi walked in front and led the way. He seemed to be very familiar with this area. Whenever he encountered a fork in the road, he could choose the right direction without hesitation. Fujita Ying noticed this, but said nothing.
The two-hour sneak was a torture for these young people. They had to endure the bites of mosquitoes, avoid patrolling soldiers, and sometimes wade through muddy water. But no one complained, because Fujita Ying was right beside them, walking calmly, as if he had anticipated everything in front of him.
Finally, they arrived at Nakano District. A tall house stood in the moonlight, and ivy covered the plain outer walls. This was the location of the Yamaguchi Company. During the day, it was a busy commercial center, but at this moment it was shrouded in an eerie silence.
Yamamoto Satoshi took two steps forward and knocked on the door. The three dull sounds of "dong, dong, dong" were particularly clear in the silent night.
After a moment's wait, a vigilant voice came from inside the door: "Who?"
The voice was soft, but with a hint of nervousness. In this troubled time, any late night visitor could mean danger.
Fujita Ying took a step forward and was about to speak, but Yamamoto Satoshi spoke first: "The moon shines on the mountains and rivers, and the wind is rising and the clouds are surging."
This was obviously a secret code. The person inside the door was silent for a few seconds, then asked, "Is it the guest from the east?"
“That’s right,” Yamamoto Satoshi replied.
Everyone could clearly hear a few rustling sounds coming from behind the door, as if someone was carefully confirming something. The young students looked at each other nervously, their palms sweating.
The heavy wooden door slowly opened, and a bearded man poked his head out cautiously. His eyes swept across everyone's faces one by one, and finally stopped for a moment on Fujita Ying, then stepped aside.
"Come in quickly." His voice was very soft, but there was a hint of unquestionable command in his tone.
Everyone filed in. The bearded man was the last to come in. He looked around carefully to make sure no one was following him, then he quietly closed the door and bolted it.
However, just as Yamamoto Satoshi stepped into the courtyard, a dark shadow suddenly rushed out from the corridor. With a dull "bang", Yamamoto Satoshi was hit hard by a straight punch and staggered back a few steps.
"Changwu!" the bearded man exclaimed, but the burly man in samurai clothes had already grabbed Yamamoto Satoshi by the collar.
"Asshole!" Chang Wu's voice trembled with anger. "It's because of you! It's because of that damn parade you organized!" His eyes flashed fiercely in the moonlight. "Do you know how many innocent people died in our company? Seventeen! Seventeen lives!"
The students around Fujita Ying took a few steps back in fear, but their teacher stood there motionless, watching everything quietly.
Yamamoto Satoshi was grabbed by the collar, but he showed a sarcastic sneer. He suddenly broke free from Changwu's hand, straightened his collar, and his eyes flashed with a dangerous light.
"Changwu Jun," he said with a hint of mockery in his voice, "What kind of drama are you acting? Weren't you the first one to agree to the plan of the parade?"
"You!" Chang Wu clenched his fists.
"Before we set out, did I tell you about the possible consequences?" Yamamoto continued, each word as sharp as a knife. "Didn't you vow at the time that you would sacrifice everything to resist tyranny?"
Changwu's face turned pale. Yamamoto Satoshi was not relenting: "Now you blame me?" He suddenly turned to Fujita Ying and said respectfully, "Mr. Fujita, do you think we must pay a price to overthrow Pu Yu's tyranny?"
This sentence was like a heavy hammer, hitting Changwu's soft spot. His eyes turned to Fujita Ying involuntarily, and the anger on his face was gradually replaced by confusion and shame.
"Changwu-kun," Yamamoto Satoshi's voice suddenly became gentle, but with a hint of imperceptible threat, "Are you sure you want to attack me in front of Mr. Fujita?"
The air seemed to freeze. Everyone's eyes were focused on Fujita Ying, waiting for his reaction. Changwu's fists slowly loosened, but the anger in his eyes was not completely extinguished.
The bearded man quickly stepped forward to smooth things over: "Stop arguing! The most important thing now is to discuss what to do next. Changwu, calm down first."
Yamamoto Satoshi adjusted his wrinkled collar, a faint smile on his lips. His eyes swept over everyone present, and finally stopped at Fujita Ying, with an unfathomable light flashing in his eyes.
Fujita Ying saw all of this. His expression remained calm, as if the conflict just now had nothing to do with him, but a thoughtful look flashed across his deep eyes.
In the reception room, candlelight flickered.
Chang Wu knelt in front of Fujita Ying and bowed his head deeply: "Mr. Fujita, I was so rude just now. I was so excited that I lost my composure in front of you..."
There was genuine regret in his voice, and the previous anger seemed to have completely dissipated.
Fujita Ying waved his hand, a trace of fatigue in his eyes: "I can understand your feelings. In order to rescue someone like me, Yamaguchi Company paid too much. Those seventeen lives..."
"No!" Changwu raised his head suddenly and interrupted Fujita Ying, "Please don't say that!"
The candlelight illuminated his resolute face, and his eyes sparkled with excited tears: "Mr. Fujita, you are the real hero. Those brothers..." His voice choked, "They died for the justice in their hearts, not to save you alone."
Yamamoto Satoshi, who was standing in the corner, heard this and a faint smile appeared on his lips. He watched this touching scene, but a hint of subtle sarcasm flashed in his eyes.
Fujita Ying just silently looked at the strong man kneeling in front of him. Looking at the fanatical admiration in his eyes, an indescribable feeling arose in his heart.
