Chapter 3 Devil Training
Chapter 3 Devil Training
Su Wusi's arrival did not seem to cause much of a ripple in the lives of Xianyun Peak.
Xie Jing's teaching methods, ironically, turned the peaceful Xianyun Peak into chaos.
"Aaaaaah, senior sister, help me!"
Jian Muyi was practically a living noise generator. Shi Ming, annoyed by his noise, kicked him out. Su Wusi followed closely behind, and two steps behind was their teaching instructor, Xie Jing.
Seeing that Luo Zai Shui seemed to have stumbled into a battleground and was unaware of the situation, Shi Ming rushed to her side, grabbed her waist, and led her away from the trouble.
"Shi Ming, eliminated. You'll have an extra hour of training."
"Hahahaha, Senior Brother saved the damsel in distress, and he's the first one to be eliminated!" Jian Muyi gloated.
Luo suppressed her racing heartbeat in the water. Shi Ming had already let go of her hand and kept his distance.
Xie Jing stopped when he saw her arrive: "You've come at the perfect time. I was just looking for an excuse to give them extra practice."
Luo Zai Shui sighed, "Master, you didn't have to make me so hated."
Jian Muyi's mind finally started working: "Uncle-Master never intended for us to rest!"
Having spent so much time with them, Su Wusi started teasing her senior brother: "Senior brother, are you only just realizing this?"
"Then what was the point of all that effort just now?"
"It's for training." Xie Jing appeared behind him at some point and grabbed his shoulder. "Jian Muyi was eliminated, so you'll have to train for an extra hour. On the battlefield, the enemy won't give you time to chat."
Only Su Wusi remained on the field, and she skillfully dodged Xie Jing's various sneak attacks.
"What do you think of Junior Sister's progress?" Shi Ming suddenly asked.
“Very talented,” was Luo’s honest assessment of the water.
Jian Muyi pouted: "He's just too talented. It took me a year to learn the Wind Riding Technique."
Luo Zai Shui watched Su Wu Si, who was almost out of sight, then glanced at Shi Ming: "Are you testing her?"
Shi Ming calmly looked at the afterimage in the distance: "The Riding the Wind Technique will not be passed on to outsiders."
Luo Zai Shui understood what he meant. This junior sister's mastery of the Wind Riding Technique was no less than hers and that of her senior brother, which already made the problem clear. No matter how high her talent was, the Wind Riding Technique could not be mastered in such a short time. Moreover, she deliberately exposed a few flaws that newcomers were prone to reveal.
Although I know she has no ill intentions towards Xianyun Peak, this junior sister definitely has a secret.
"What do you plan to do?" Shi Ming asked.
Luo Zai Shui didn't seem to care much: "Hasn't my master already noticed her?"
Jian Muyi, that blockhead, still couldn't get it right: "Senior Brother, what are you guys talking about?"
Luo Zai Shui rubbed her temples: "Sometimes it's good if your brain doesn't work properly."
Shi Ming glanced at Jian Muyi, very well, Xianyun Peak has no future in sight: "It's alright, go have fun."
Xue Xin and Ji Tinghan arrived late; Su Wusi had already been eliminated by Xie Jing.
Ji Tinghan stretched and yawned: "Sword cultivators have it tough, having to start cultivating so early."
Jian Muyi scoffed: "Who's as lazy as you? Even my senior sister arrived earlier than you."
“Exactly,” Xue Xin chimed in.
Hey! Xue Xin, you!
"Stop, stop, stop." Luo Zai Shui was really afraid that they would start arguing again. Usually, in this situation, they would first bicker, then fight, resulting in a two-on-one situation, and finally a melee. When they were young, it was fine, as she and Shi Ming could hold one of them in each hand. Now that they were all grown up, her and Shi Ming joining in would only make the battle more chaotic.
"Hmph." Ji Tinghan snorted coldly, indicating that he would not bother arguing with that brainless sword cultivator.
"You guys seem to have a lot of energy," Xie Jing said with a grin. Luo Zai Shui knew this was definitely not a good sign, and alarm bells went off in her head.
“I will be guiding your cultivation for the next few days. Since the sect leader has entrusted this matter to me, I naturally want him to see your progress, so—” Xie Jing drawled out his words, “I plan to give you intensive training.”
"Uncle-Master, does 'intensified training' mean you chasing us around on the field?" Jian Muyi raised his hand.
"This is just a warm-up for you. Next, we'll use swords!"
Xue Xin timidly raised his hand: "Uncle-Master, do medicine cultivators also have to participate?"
"If you don't participate, will I let you watch the show?" Xie Jing arrogantly raised his chin, silently giving himself a thumbs up for the brilliant training method he had come up with.
"Master..." Ji Tinghan hadn't even opened his mouth yet.
"Shut up." Xie Jing refused to listen.
Xianyun Peak has a fine tradition: medicine practitioners are skilled in swordsmanship, swordsmen are skilled in formations, and talisman practitioners are skilled in medicine. In short, they learn everything, and although they may specialize in one area, they have a basic understanding of everything.
"If there are no objections, let's begin. Anyone I catch will have an extra hour of training."
"No!" the disciples cried out, but they were all kicked into the arena. The disciples dared not speak out against the person who had done it.
Luo Zai Shui and Shi Ming took the initiative to enter the arena. Shi Ming held an ordinary iron sword, wary of Xie Jing who might appear at any moment. Luo Zai Shui, on the other hand, was lazy, holding only a peach branch with buds and two or three blossoms in her hand. She was most experienced in dealing with her master.
Xue Xin was the first to leave the field. Xie Jing shook his head: "Go back and practice more. Staying cooped up in that pharmacy for too long will make your limbs stiff."
Xue Xin retorted, "How can the stamina of medicine cultivators compare to that of sword cultivators!"
"You're not convinced?" Xie Jing turned and rushed towards Ji Tinghan. "Then you just wait and see."
"Master! I am your own disciple!" Ji Tinghan held a talisman in one hand and a sword in the other.
With a clang, Ji Tinghan actually blocked Xie Jing's sword. Before he could react, his body acted before his mind, and he directly made a hand seal to dodge Xie Jing's second sword.
Xue Xin stared in disbelief: "Wait, when did you secretly become stronger behind your brothers' backs?!"
"Damn, that's so cool! My martial uncle is going to strike me!" Jian Muyi fantasized about being able to withstand a sword strike from his martial uncle.
However, the truth is that Jian Muyi was sent flying by Xie Jing's sword.
"The moves are flashy, but lack power," Xie Jing commented honestly.
Only four people remained on the field. Xie Jing teased them like a cat playing with a mouse.
The two people who came offstage watched the show while eating sunflower seeds.
Jian Muyi was still giving wild instructions from the side: "Ji Tinghan, run! Your martial uncle is coming for you!"
Ji Tinghan instinctively retreated three zhang away, but Xie Jing suddenly attacked Luo Zaishui behind him.
"You!" Before Ji Tinghan could react, he was sent flying by a talisman.
"Nobody chats with you on the battlefield."
"Jian! Mu! Yi!"
Another fight broke out off the field, and this time Xue Xin was in charge of breaking it up. As expected, it eventually turned into a melee.
"Master," Luo Zai Shui said, abandoning his lazy demeanor, "Shall we exchange a few moves?"
Xie Jing scoffed: "The three of you can come at me together; it'll save you time and effort."
Shi Ming had no objection to this. He made the first move, and Luo Zai Shui followed closely behind him. The two joined forces, one focusing on offense and the other on defense. Their sword techniques intertwined, and they managed to fight Xie Jing to a standstill.
The three people standing nearby had long forgotten about their fight.
"Senior sister is amazing! Did you guys see which move she used just now? Oh my god, senior brother is so cool!" Jian Muyi shouted the loudest.
Su Wusi wanted to go forward to help, but there was no way he could get close. He simply dodged the sword winds of the three men from the side.
Luo Zai Shui and Shi Ming exchanged a glance and immediately understood each other's thoughts. They changed their attack and defense strategy and charged at Xie Jing at the same time. Xie Jing smiled slightly and easily deflected their attacks.
Xie Jing also lowered his defenses and began to focus his attacks on Luo Zai Shui. Luo Zai Shui sensed something was wrong and immediately distanced himself from Xie Jing, but Xie Jing relentlessly pursued him.
"Master, it can't be that bad."
"How could it not be? Didn't you two just try to betray your master and ancestors?"
"No, I didn't!"
Seeing that Luo Zai Shui was running out of energy and was forced to fight Xie Jing, Shi Ming gave her a chance to catch her breath.
Xie Jing didn't fall for that and focused his attacks on Luo Zai Shui. Luo Zai Shui was very familiar with his master's fighting style and could easily dodge the attacks. This stalemate lasted for half an hour.
Unable to catch her, Xie Jing resorted to provocation: "On the battlefield, is this all you do, just hide?"
Luo made a face at him in the water: "If I encountered someone of Master's level on the battlefield, I would have run away long ago."
Xie Jing laughed angrily: "Is this how I taught you?"
He conveniently eliminated Su Wusi, who had run into his line of fire, and began to focus on dealing with Shi Ming and Luo Zai Shui.
Unfortunately, these two were the best at mastering the Wind Riding Technique, and when they teamed up, Xie Jing really couldn't do anything about them for a while.
However, it's only a matter of time before they are caught.
Luo Zai Shui was the first to have Xie Jing's iron sword held to her neck.
"Still running?"
"I'm not running anymore, I'm not running anymore."
Luo Zai Shui waved her hand, then collapsed to the ground without any regard for her appearance. In terms of physical strength, she was probably the second weakest on the entire Xianyun Peak, with Xue Xin being the weakest.
After dealing with Luo Zai Shui, Shi Ming was also easy to deal with, but not long after, Shi Ming was also captured by Xie Jing.
"Hey you guys watching the show, come over here." Xie Jing gathered them together.
Luo Zai Shui was sore all over that she couldn't stand up, so she simply lay down on the ground.
"You lot, why don't you learn from your senior brothers and sisters? Look at how badly you've used the Wind Riding Technique! You were defeated in less than five moves! Extra training, everyone except Shui He and Shi Ming, extra training!"
"Huh?" Xue Xin hated physical training the most.
"What are you talking about? If you're going to face the enemy like this, I think you might as well stay on Xianyun Peak and retire."
Xie Jing was unusually serious: "Xue Xin is the weakest in physical strength, Jian Muyi is simple-minded and acts impulsively, and Ji Tinghan's Dao heart is unstable and easily disturbed by the outside world. The three of you use the Riding Wind Technique even worse than Wu Si."
The three who were criticized lowered their heads in shame and secretly resolved to cultivate diligently.
Xie Jing walked up to Luo Zai Shui, looking down at her. The little ingrate could still laugh: "You... never mind, you should rest for a while, regulate your breathing, and see how your spiritual energy is circulating. The rest of you, keep an eye on things, Shi Ming."
Xie Jing then left.
Luo Zai Shui was too lazy to get up, so she stretched out a hand, and Shi Ming took the opportunity to pull her to a shady spot.
"how do you feel?"
Luo Zai Shui answered truthfully, "I feel dizzy and lightheaded, and I feel nauseous."
Ji Tinghan asked nervously, "Should I go and call Master Lu?"
Luo Zai Shui waved his hand: "No need, I'll be fine after a while of resting. You guys go train first."
"I've dragged Senior Brother down," Luo Zai Shui said after catching his breath.
"How am I holding anyone back?"
"If he had a partner with better physical strength, Senior Brother might have been able to beat Master?"
Shi Ming handed her a bowl of water: "If I were a little stronger, you would be able to beat your master."
"What kind of grand scheme of betraying one's master and ancestors are they plotting now?" Xie Jing hurriedly returned.
"Master, where did you just run off to?" Luo Zai Shui asked curiously what her master was so busy with.
Xie Jing flicked her forehead: "Kids, don't worry about so much. Shi Ming, keep an eye on your junior brothers and sisters lately. Don't let them go down the mountain. If they see anyone from the Wen family, stay away. Do you understand?"
"The Wen family? What happened down the mountain?" Luo Zaishui asked curiously.
"It's not a good thing, don't get yourself into trouble." After saying that, Xie Jing hurriedly left again.
Luo rubbed his forehead and muttered to himself, "Why do you only say half of what you mean?"
As the eldest disciple, Shi Ming naturally followed the elders' instructions and told his disciples not to go down the mountain casually recently. Looking at the mountain peaks not far away, he had a bad feeling: "The Wen family is very ambitious now."
