Chapter 97 Discussion
Chapter 97 Discussion
Zhou Shaolong glanced at the big man and nodded slightly; Jiang Chulian opened his eyes, his gaze lingering for a moment on the shadow at the big man's feet, before closing them again.
Shi Le didn't mind. He walked to the side, squatted down, and drew circles on the ground with his finger, as if passing the time.
Two figures descended from the western horizon. The one in front was burly, with a bold and imposing face, thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a full beard. His hearty laughter was like a booming bell, and could be heard from a great distance.
The man was dressed in a dark purple brocade robe with a black gourd hanging from his waist. Beside him was an ordinary-looking young man dressed in a gray-white Taoist robe, who kept his head down, remained silent, and followed closely behind the man like a shadow.
The burly man landed on the ground, looked around, clasped his hands in a salute, and said in a booming voice, "Ning Zhihao of the Heavenly Demon Palace! This is my junior brother Zhang Yunling. He is not good with words, please forgive him."
The young man next to Ning Zhihao nodded slightly as a greeting, his gaze remaining lowered, avoiding eye contact with anyone.
The Heavenly Demon Palace is a sect in the Ten Directions Demonic Path renowned for its demon head crafting and demon seed manipulation. Its disciples are skilled at refining demon heads into their bodies to amplify their combat power with demonic energy. Their methods are unpredictable and difficult to defend against.
Ning Zhihao may seem generous, but everyone present knows that none of the disciples of the Heavenly Demon Palace are easy to deal with.
A sharp screech echoed through the sky, and a golden streak of light streaked across the heavens at astonishing speed, landing on the mountaintop in the blink of an eye.
As the light faded, a gaunt young man was revealed, dressed in a brocade robe embroidered with gold thread. His face was sinister, and there was a hint of ferocity between his brows. On the young man's shoulder lay a Gu worm shaped like a golden cicada, its entire body golden, its wings as thin as cicada wings, shimmering brilliantly in the sunlight. The Gu worm's mouthparts were as thin as needles, trembling slightly as it faced Yun Weiyang, as if it had sensed something unusual.
The gaunt young man's gaze fell on Yun Weiyang, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes.
"Brother Guifang, I didn't see you along the way. I thought you were dead." The young man's voice was sharp, filled with undisguised hostility.
Yun Weiyang looked at the other person and recognized him. He was also a disciple of the Gu Sect, Nan Tao. Within the Gu Sect, this person and Gui Fangtu had always been at odds. This time, he entered the Demon Abyss with the intention of vying for the Heavenly Demon Eye.
Yun Weiyang smiled and replied lazily, "Junior Brother Nan, what you're saying really hurts my feelings."
Nan Tao snorted coldly, said no more, walked to the other side, kept his distance from Yun Weiyang, and the Golden-Winged Gu on his shoulder flapped its wings and flew up, rustling and hissing.
On the other side of the mountain peak, the rock wall was torn open, and a tall, thin figure emerged from it. His skin was as pale as paper, his face was gaunt, his cheekbones were high, his eye sockets were deep, and his eyes were cloudy grayish-white, making him look like a corpse.
The man reached the mountain peak, his greyish-white eyes sweeping over everyone present, his voice hoarse: "Corpse Mountain, Dige."
After saying that, Digo fell silent.
Corpse Mountain is an outlier sect in the Ten Directions Demonic Path. They are skilled at manipulating corpses and have a unique fondness for them. Even other major demonic sects are unwilling to associate with them.
A streak of blood-red light surged from the horizon, like a blood-red river rushing across the sky. From within the blood-red light, a young man with a cold face and a constant smile on his lips rode the waves.
The young man had long hair draped over his shoulders, his eyes slightly red, and he wore a dark red robe. He landed on the mountaintop, and the blood-red light contracted, transforming into a blood-red longsword, which fell into the young man's hand.
"Blood Sea, He Yu." The young man's voice carried a strange magnetism, his smile warm. "Fellow Daoists, is the Heavenly Demon Eye not yet mature?"
He Yu glanced at the blood tree in the distance and licked his lips.
The others looked at He Yu with various expressions, but no one paid him any attention.
Finally, a crimson flame appeared.
A streak of fire flashed across the sky like a falling meteor, leaving a long trail of flame before crashing down on the mountaintop.
The flames exploded, revealing a middle-aged man with a solid build and a resolute face. He wore a crimson Taoist robe, his long hair was tied up with a red rope, his face was as if carved by a knife and axe, his gaze was calm, and he was surrounded by blazing flames.
The middle-aged man walked to the mountaintop, glanced at everyone present, and said in a low voice, "Red Lotus Sect, Yang Lianshan."
After saying that, Yang Lianshan stopped talking and turned his gaze to the distant Heavenly Demon Blood Tree, waiting in silence.
Once everyone had arrived, a brief silence fell upon the mountaintop as everyone observed the others.
Primitive Mountain, Pang Zhen.
Seven Kill Sword Tomb, Zhou Shaolong.
The Xuan Yin Sect, Jiang Chulian.
Tianmo Palace, Ning Zhihao, Zhang Yunling.
Corpse Mountain, Dige.
Blood Sea, He Yu.
Red Lotus Sect, Yang Lianshan.
Gu Sect, Nan Tao.
Shi Le, the founder of the Ten Thousand Beasts Clan.
The group stood on the mountaintop for a long time before a voice broke the silence.
"Where are the people from the Nine Nether Sect?"
The speaker was He Yu. Standing amidst the blood-red light, He Yu's smile remained unchanged as his gaze swept over everyone present.
"No one from the Nine Nether Sect came," Nan Tao interjected, a hint of schadenfreude in his voice. "It seems they've all been killed."
As he spoke, Nan Tao's gaze swept meaningfully over everyone present: "Fellow Daoists, you are all quite swift in your actions."
Pang Zhen sneered: "If your skills are inferior, you deserve to die."
No one objected. In the demonic path, it is a dog-eat-dog world. The fact that the Nine Nether Sect members were unable to get here is because they were not as capable as others, and it has nothing to do with anyone else.
After a brief silence, Zhou Shaolong spoke: "Now that the Heavenly Demon Eye is about to mature, if you all don't want to watch those beasts devour the three fruits, we have no choice but to join forces."
Zhou Shaolong pointed to the blood tree in the distance. Hundreds of magical beasts were pushing and roaring wildly under the tree. Several huge ones had climbed up the trunk, trying to get closer to the fruit on the crown, but they were pulled down by the magical beasts below and torn into a bloody mess.
No one refuted.
Everyone present knew very well that none of them could possibly defeat hundreds of demonic beasts at the Refinement God Realm on their own. If they wanted to obtain the Heavenly Demon Eye, they had to join forces to clear the area first.
Shi Le stood up, dusted off his knees, and smiled憨厚ly: "Let's join forces then, but let's agree on this first: how will we divide these three Heavenly Demon Eyes after we kill these beasts?"
Pang Zhen glanced at Shi Le and said calmly, "Naturally, it will be according to the rules of the demonic path: the winner takes all!"
"Great!" He Yu clapped his hands with a smile. "The winner takes all, whoever has the biggest fist gets the fruit, that's the fairest way."
Jiang Chulian opened his eyes, a slight smile playing on his lips. He remained silent, which was taken as tacit agreement.
Yang Lianshan nodded silently.
Digo's greyish-white eyes flickered, and he uttered two hoarse words: "Okay."
