Chapter 64 Ghost
Chapter 64 Ghost
Su Yao sighed softly, "I have seen too many tragedies caused by love, hate, anger and infatuation, and I don't want to witness it again. Moreover, I have heard a little about your past life. You should have had a happy life, but it was forcibly changed by others."
Why do I feel like this is a bit like acting?
I spoke up from the side, "Regardless, thank you for your help, young lady. However, Xingyu's memories are all from this life; the past is too distant for her."
Su Yao nodded. "I understand. I just hope you can be well in the future. There is cause and effect in this world, and I hope all relationships can continue in a beautiful way."
A warm feeling welled up in Wen Xingyu's heart. "Sister Su Yao, you are so kind. If possible, I hope we can meet again."
I exclaimed in one comment, "This little girl is so gullible! She believes whatever people say."
Su Yao smiled and said, "If we are destined to meet again, we will meet again." After saying that, she turned around and gradually disappeared from everyone's sight, leaving only a faint fragrance of flowers in the air.
Wen Xingyu stared in the direction where Su Yao had disappeared, unable to come back to her senses for a long time.
Huan Yuechu bent down slightly, gently extended her right hand, and softly stroked Wen Xingyu's silky smooth hair, speaking slowly.
"Xingyu, the world is full of complicated things. Sometimes, thinking too much can only lead to trouble. So, it's better to keep a calm mind, not to be too demanding, and to let things take their natural course. Perhaps this is the best arrangement that God has given us."
Upon hearing these words, Wen Xingyu slowly turned her head, her gaze meeting Huan Yuechu's.
A glimmer of gratitude and approval flashed in her beautiful eyes, and then she nodded gently.
Immediately afterwards, Wen Xingyu's lips curled up slightly, revealing a sweet smile, and she took the initiative to reach out her small hand and tightly grasp Huan Yuechu's warm and soft palm.
She said cheerfully, "Okay, Sister Yuechu, I'll listen to you. Let's go back to the inn!" But in her heart, she thought, "Wow! I finally got to touch Sister Yuechu's hand. It's so white, so tender and soft. I want to hold it forever."
Looking at Wen Xingyu, I realized she had the mindset of a complete child.
When Wen Xingyu took my hand, although I don't like physical contact, I didn't show much resistance. I just treated it as coaxing this little girl.
Back at the inn, Wen Xingyu kept thinking about what had happened that day, as well as what Su Yao had mentioned about her past life.
At night, she went to the courtyard alone, the moonlight shining on her.
Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew by, carrying a familiar floral fragrance. Wen Xingyu turned around in surprise and saw Su Yao appear before her again.
Su Yao stood there quietly, the moonlight outlining her exquisite features.
Before Wen Xingyu could speak, Su Yao spoke first in a soft voice, "Xingyu, I know you are full of doubts."
Wen Xingyu nodded hurriedly.
Su Yao slowly approached and took her hand. "In our past life, we were best friends, but we were framed by villains. You died unjustly, and I was powerless to help you. In this life, fate has given us the chance to meet again."
Wen Xingyu's eyes widened, her heart filled with mixed feelings.
Su Yao continued, "Now that I have returned, it is to take you away from danger. That hidden force still exists."
At this moment, Huan Yuechu also arrived in the courtyard at some point. Upon hearing Su Yao's words, she paused in the fan she was holding, frowned, and said expressionlessly, "What is this hidden force you're talking about?"
Su Yao glanced at her, "You don't need to know yet, just follow me."
Huan Yuechu snorted coldly, "Why should we believe you? Just because of your nonsensical words?"
Su Yao sighed softly, "I know it's hard to convince you right away, but time is of the essence, and danger could strike at any moment."
Wen Xingyu bit her lip. "I'm willing to believe you, Sister Su Yao. No matter how bizarre it is, I feel you wouldn't lie to me."
Huan Yuechu glanced at Wen Xingyu, then at Su Yao, and finally shrugged helplessly. "Fine, you can go now! I'll stay and guard the inn." Let any demons or monsters come; I, Huan Yuechu, will take them on.
Su Yao glanced gratefully at Wen Xingyu, then said to Huan Yuechu, "Your staying will only increase the danger. This force is far more powerful than you imagine."
Huan Yuechu crossed her arms and said in a deep voice, "This inn is mine, how can I leave so easily?"
Seeing that she couldn't persuade her, Su Yao had no choice but to turn around and leave with Wen Xingyu.
They hadn't gone far when a thick fog suddenly rolled in, and dark shadows flickered in the fog.
Su Yao's expression changed, and she shielded Wen Xingyu behind her.
At this moment, Huan Yuechu, who was staying at the inn, also noticed something strange. A group of ghost-like creatures were rushing towards the inn.
Huan Yuechu's eyes narrowed, and with a gentle wave of her right hand, the exquisite folding fan she was holding instantly transformed into a gleaming blade!
She moved with lightning speed, rushing towards the surging enemy ahead.
As she moved forward, an invisible pressure spread outwards from her.
Wherever it passed, whether it was lush grass or low shrubs, everything was uprooted by the impact of this powerful force. Even the ground was scraped away, leaving nothing behind and not a single blade of grass growing!
On the other side, a light blue shield appeared in front of Su Yao, blocking the attack from the dark figure.
Wen Xingyu clenched her fists slightly nervously, knowing in her heart that she was ultimately too weak! She couldn't be of any help.
Just as the shield was about to give way, a melodious flute sound came from afar.
The dark figures were frightened and scattered.
Su Yao breathed a sigh of relief and muttered to herself, "I didn't expect him to come too."
Wen Xingyu asked curiously, "Who is it?"
Su Yao smiled mysteriously, "An assistant."
Before long, a man dressed in white slowly walked over, holding a jade flute, his face as cold and aloof as snow.
Su Yao stepped forward and said, "Mo Bai, you've come at the perfect time."
Mo Bai nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over Wen Xingyu, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
Huan Yuechu arrived after dealing with the ghosts at the inn.
Upon seeing Mo Bai, she raised an eyebrow. "Was that the flute you were playing?"
Mo Bai nodded, his voice cold and clear, "The sudden appearance of so many ghostly creatures here must be suspicious."
Huan Yuechu dusted herself off and agreed, "That's right, this ghostly creature is too strange! We need to investigate it thoroughly."
Wen Xingyu couldn't help but interject, "But how are we going to investigate?"
After thinking for a moment, Su Yao said, "I have heard that ghostly creatures are usually born from evil thoughts or controlled by evil things. We can start by checking if there are any unusual auras nearby."
The group agreed, and they dispersed to investigate.
Wen Xingyu walked alone into a grove of trees when she suddenly heard a soft sobbing sound.
She mustered her courage and approached, only to find a little girl crouching under a tree, crying.
Just as Wen Xingyu was about to ask a question, the girl raised her face, and her eyes were blood red.
Wen Xingyu was startled and took a few steps back.
