Chapter 206 Meeting Invitation
Chapter 206 Meeting Invitation
"What movie were you filming this time? Was it so tiring? You've lost weight."
Jiang Songchu scratched his head and explained with a smile.
"This time I'm filming a period drama, and I play a female knight-errant. There are a lot of action scenes, so it's quite physically demanding."
Upon hearing this, Grandpa Xie frowned even more deeply, his tone clearly showing displeasure.
"Let Chen Yun and Xiao Lin arrange a stunt double for you! Why are you always so stubborn?"
Jiang Songchu smiled and shook his head, his tone relaxed.
"No need, Grandpa Xie, you know I know martial arts."
“These actions are nothing to me; I can handle them myself.”
Grandma Feng chimed in from the side, her tone tinged with helplessness.
"Oh, the old man is worried about you, afraid you'll get hurt. You're always such a worry."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Songchu's heart tightened, and his head involuntarily shrank back.
She recalled how she had sprained her ankle when a high platform collapsed during filming, and she was afraid that her parents would worry even more if they found out.
She quickly laughed it off, saying, "Don't worry, Grandpa and Grandma, I'll take good care of myself. Look, I'm perfectly fine!"
Grandpa Xie snorted, his tone carrying a hint of reproach.
"You're fine? You're so thin and you call that fine? I think you just don't know how to take care of yourself."
Jiang Songchu stuck out her tongue and playfully clung to Grandpa Xie's arm.
"Grandpa Xie, don't worry! I'm back now. I'll rest well for the next few days and eat more of Grandma's cooking. I promise I'll gain weight back quickly!"
Grandma Feng smiled and shook her head, her tone full of affection.
"You're such a good kid, you always know how to make us happy."
"However, now that you're back, take a few days to rest and don't rush into taking on new work."
Jiang Songchu nodded, her tone obedient.
"Okay, Grandma. I'll stay home these few days and not go anywhere. I'll spend some quality time with you."
Grandpa Xie's expression softened slightly, but he still wouldn't let it go.
"Hmph, that's more like it. If you lose any more weight, I'm going to settle the score with Chen Yun and Xiao Lin."
Jiang Songchu quickly waved his hand, his tone tinged with nervousness.
"No, no, no, thank you Grandpa Xie. Sister Yun and Director Lin have already taken good care of me."
"This time, I requested to do it myself; it has nothing to do with them."
Grandpa Xie glared at her, his tone tinged with helplessness.
"You're always so stubborn."
"However, since you put it that way, this old man will not meddle in your affairs."
"But you have to promise me that you'll be careful when filming in the future, and don't make us worry."
Jiang Songchu nodded quickly, her tone sincere: "I promise you, Grandpa Xie. I will be careful from now on and won't let you worry anymore."
Grandma Feng stood by, smiling and trying to smooth things over.
"Alright, alright, old man, stop nagging."
"Songchu just got back, let her get some rest."
Grandpa Xie nodded, his tone carrying a hint of compromise.
"Alright, I'll listen to your grandma. But eat more for dinner, and don't even think about dieting."
Jiang Songchu smiled and replied, "Okay, thank you, Grandpa. I'll definitely eat more and finish all the dishes Grandma made!"
Grandma Feng patted her hand with a smile: "You silly child, you always know how to say nice things. Go wash your hands, dinner will be ready soon."
Jiang Songchu nodded and got up to go to the restroom.
Mo Bao followed at her feet, its tail held high, as if it too was happy for her return.
As Jiang Songchu washed her hands, she looked at herself in the mirror and felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
During dinner, Grandma Feng kept putting food on Jiang Songchu's plate, saying, "Eat more to nourish your body."
While eating, Jiang Songchu chatted with the two elderly people about interesting things that happened on set, making them laugh heartily.
Mo Bao squatted to the side, staring longingly at the food on the table, occasionally meowing as if protesting that it hadn't been fed.
Meanwhile, Chen Yun had already returned to the company.
The headquarters building of Hongtian Entertainment was still brightly lit in the night, especially Chen Yun's office, where the light shone through the glass window and onto the corridor, making it particularly eye-catching.
In the office, the desk was piled high with various documents and contracts, and the computer screen displayed unprocessed emails and schedules.
Chen Yun sat at her desk, rubbed her temples, took a deep breath, and tried to recover from the day's fatigue.
"Mr. Chen, this is the letter of intent for cooperation from the brand we just received today. Please take a look."
Aman pushed open the door and came in, holding a stack of documents in his hand, with a look of fatigue on his face.
Chen Yun nodded, took the document, and quickly browsed through it.
Her brows furrowed slightly, clearly indicating a headache.
Recently, she has been receiving more and more collaboration requests from brands, which is a good thing, but it also means that her workload has increased exponentially.
She gave instructions while flipping through the documents.
"Aman, please help me filter them first. Prioritize those brands that have a long-term partnership with our company, and put the others aside for now."
Aman nodded, hesitated for a moment, and then said.
"Mr. Chen, there's one more thing..."
"Chu Chu's fan club sent an invitation, hoping she can attend next month's fan meeting. What do you think..."
Chen Yun raised her head, pondered for a moment, and then spoke.
"Don't rush to agree. Let me ask Songchu's opinion first."
"She just finished filming and needs to rest for a while. We can't let her get too tired."
Aman responded and turned to leave the office.
Chen Yun leaned back in her chair and let out a long sigh of relief.
She picked up her phone, glanced at the time, and saw it was already past nine o'clock in the evening.
She hesitated for a moment, but still dialed Jiang Songchu's number.
Jiang Songchu's cheerful voice came quickly from the other end of the phone: "Sister Yun, what's wrong?"
Chen Yun smiled, her tone filled with affection: "It's nothing. You've worked hard today. Get some rest and don't overwork yourself."
Jiang Songchu said with a smile, "Okay, Sister Chen, don't push yourself too hard. Go home and rest early!"
Hearing Jiang Songchu's relaxed tone, Chen Yun felt a little more at ease.
She said softly, "I have some things to take care of here, but I'll be done soon."
"You just finished filming, so take a good rest these few days and don't rush to take on new work."
Jiang Songchu's voice carried a hint of playfulness: "Don't worry, Sister Yun, I'm already relaxing at home."
"Grandma Feng and Grandpa Xie made me lots of delicious food. I promise I'll fatten myself up these next few days!"
Chen Yun couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"That's good."
"By the way, the fan club sent me an invitation to a meet-and-greet. Would you like to attend?"
"If you feel tired, I'll cancel it for you."
Jiang Songchu thought for a moment, then his tone became more serious.
"A meet-and-greet... I think I could attend."
