Chapter 182 War Breath Surges, Yao Maiden Returns
Chapter 182 War Breath Surges, Yao Maiden Returns
Dai Yao slowly woke up, feeling as if she had been drained of her last bit of magic power. Her whole body was sore and weak, and her mind was buzzing.
"Three days and three nights?! Are you kidding me? This is really bad!" she couldn't help but complain in her heart. This body is too fragile, it keeps crashing.
The mysterious figure looked worried, wishing he could stuff all the precious elixirs into Dai Yao's mouth.
Dai Yao waved her hand, "Don't panic, it's not a big problem, you won't die." She struggled to sit up, feeling that her spiritual energy was completely empty, even weaker than when she transmigrated.
Even worse, the Demon Palace is probably in complete chaos right now.
With her, the Demon Lord, not around, wouldn't those ambitious fellows be tearing the roof off?
Dai Yao rubbed her temples, feeling utterly overwhelmed.
"What's the current situation at the Demon Palace?"
The mysterious figure hesitated, then finally sighed, "It's not looking good. Some elders have already started secretly making connections, I'm afraid..."
Dai Yao sneered, "Ha, I knew it! These people are so fickle, they change their minds faster than we do! Once I recover, I'll show them what I'm made of!" But she knew in her heart that in her current state, she would be lucky to even protect herself, let alone deal with them.
Just then, the little boy came running in with his short legs, grabbed Dai Yao's arm, and said in a childish voice, "Sister, you're finally awake! Lots of bad uncles wanted to take your spot!"
Dai Yao's heart stirred. Although this little spirit child looked young, he was surprisingly prestigious in the Demon Palace. Even those old guys treated him with deference. Perhaps she could make use of him.
"Honey, I'm fine. Go tell those uncles that although I'm not feeling well, everything is under control, so they shouldn't worry unnecessarily."
The little boy blinked his big eyes, nodded, and said, "Okay! I'll go tell them!" Then he ran off in a flash.
A few days later, the Demon Palace became much quieter. The elders who were itching to cause trouble all silently backed down after hearing what the little spirit boy said.
They had witnessed Dai Yao's methods before. Although she was weak now, who knew if she was just pretending to be weak to take advantage of others?
Dai Yao secretly breathed a sigh of relief, finally managing to stabilize the situation for the time being.
But she knew this was only a temporary measure, and she needed to restore her strength as soon as possible.
The mysterious figure looked at Dai Yao, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes, and slowly said, "Yao'er, what you did this time... was too reckless! Do you know how much I lost cleaning up your mess? I almost lost my underwear!"
Dai Yao almost choked; this familiar way of complaining was definitely him.
"Oh, my dear brother, I know you've been through a lot, but the situation was urgent! Besides, you'll definitely get your share of the benefits. How about I have Little Spirit Boy give you a shoulder massage and leg massage later?" she teased, winking at him.
The mysterious figure sighed helplessly, "Yao'er, I'm not joking with you. This time you forcibly interrupted the war between immortals and demons, and our side suffered heavy losses. The elders are already very dissatisfied with you. They even demanded that I sever ties with you."
The smile on Dai Yao's face gradually disappeared, replaced by a look of solemnity.
She knew that the mysterious figure's faction always prioritized profit, and that she had indeed harmed their interests this time in order to prevent an even greater disaster.
She just hadn't expected them to be so resolute.
"So? What's your choice?" Dai Yao stared directly into the mysterious figure's eyes, her tone eerily calm.
A tense atmosphere filled the air. The mysterious figure remained silent for a long time before finally breaking the silence.
“I…I won’t leave you.” He walked to Dai Yao’s side and gently embraced her. “No matter what happens, I will be by your side.”
Dai Yao closed her eyes, feeling his warmth, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
She knew that he had endured tremendous pressure because of her.
Over the next few days, the mysterious figure took care of Dai Yao without leaving her side.
He brought his carefully crafted elixir and fed it to Dai Yao spoonful by spoonful.
Dai Yao leaned weakly against his chest, her heart filled with emotion as she looked into his worried eyes.
"Silly boy," Dai Yao gently stroked his cheek, "was it worth it for me?"
The mysterious figure took her hand, placed it to his lips, and gently kissed it. "You are my whole world. There's no question of whether you're worth it or not."
The two embraced tightly, and a warm atmosphere filled the air around them.
However, this tranquility did not last long...
A dark figure appeared silently outside the Demon Palace, a sinister glint flashing in its eyes.
"Hmph, Dai Yao, you're already a sitting duck..."
After the great battle, the Demon Palace was in ruins, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
Dai Yao's residence appears peaceful on the surface, but in reality, it harbors hidden dangers.
The traitorous ally, named Xun Kuang, sneaked into Dai Yao's room with a sinister smile on his face.
In his view, Dai Yao was now extremely weak, making it the perfect time to get rid of her.
He could almost see himself stepping over Dai Yao's corpse to ascend to the pinnacle of power.
"Dai Yao, your era is over!" Xun Kuang grinned maliciously, condensing a ball of black energy in his hand, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Dai Yao.
However, just as he was getting carried away with his success, a strange noise suddenly came from under his feet.
Before he could react, the ground cracked open, and countless vines, like venomous snakes, wrapped around his limbs, trapping him firmly in place.
"Oh dear, who was so careless as to fall into my trap?" Dai Yao's voice came from the shadows, her tone tinged with a hint of mockery.
Xun Kuang's expression changed drastically. He never expected that Dai Yao had been prepared all along.
He struggled desperately, but found that the vines were incredibly tough and he couldn't break free at all.
"Let me go! You wretch!" Xun Kuang roared, his eyes filled with fear and rage.
Dai Yao slowly emerged from the shadows, a cold smile on her face.
"Xun Kuang, do you really think I'm powerless to fight back? You underestimate me."
When Xun Kuang saw that his plan had been exposed, he became furious and, mobilizing all his spiritual power, summoned several black energy blades and frantically attacked the vines that bound him.
However, Dai Yao just smiled contemptuously. She waved her fingers lightly, and the vines began to absorb Xun Kuang's attack and bounce it back.
"Ah!" Xun Kuang screamed in agony as his own attack tore his skin open, leaving him covered in blood.
Seeing this, the little boy standing nearby couldn't help but clap and cheer, "Sister is so amazing! Well done!"
Xun Kuang collapsed to the ground in a disheveled state, his eyes filled with despair.
Dai Yao looked down at him, without a trace of pity in her eyes.
“Xun Kuang, you cannot bear the price for betraying me.” She paused, her tone icy cold. “Now, it’s time to settle the score.”
Just then, a dark figure flashed by and landed on the roof of the Demon Palace, taking in everything.
He murmured to himself, "This woman... is more difficult to deal with than I imagined..." He turned and disappeared into the night, leaving only a meaningful, cold laugh echoing in the air...
Dai Yao placed one foot on Xun Kuang's chest, looking down at him, and parted her red lips slightly: "That's it? That's it?" She shook her head slightly and clicked her tongue twice, "Betraying me, you had better be prepared to bear my wrath."
Xun Kuang lay sprawled on the ground like a dead dog, his body convulsing. Where was his previous arrogance?
He coughed up a mouthful of blood with difficulty, staring at Dai Yao with venomous eyes.
"Ha, the victor is king and the loser is villain. Kill me or torture me, it's all up to you!" Xun Kuang said, his neck stiff, looking like a dead pig that wasn't afraid of boiling water.
Dai Yao smiled, a smile that held a profound meaning.
"Kill you? That's too easy on you. I'll make you watch with your own eyes how everything you betrayed has risen to glory!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the mysterious figure who had been observing from the shadows appeared silently behind her.
He gently patted Dai Yao's shoulder and gave her a look, everything understood without saying a word.
"Clean it up." Dai Yao ordered without turning her head, then turned to the little spirit boy and gently patted his head. "Were you scared? It's alright, I'll protect you."
The little boy blinked his big eyes and said in a childish voice, "Big sister is so amazing! Just like a fairy in a story!"
Dai Yao was amused by him and pinched his chubby little face. "You have such a sweet mouth!"
After dealing with Xun Kuang, the mysterious figure returned to Dai Yao's side and whispered, "The new enemy seems to be making a move."
Dai Yao's eyes narrowed, and a cold smile curled at the corner of her lips. "Oh? Looks like there's going to be a good show."
At the same time, on the roof of the Demon Palace, the mysterious black shadow reappeared.
He stared in the direction Dai Yao had left, a sinister glint in his eyes.
“Interesting, very interesting…” he murmured to himself. “Looks like we need to speed things up…” He took out a communication talisman, infused it with spiritual power, and the talisman burned away, leaving only scattered sparks in the air and a light, airy voice: “The plan is ahead of schedule…”
