Chapter 157 Being Beaten
Chapter 157 Getting Beaten
They were completely unrecognizable. These mercenaries were very experienced, the kind of experienced that could torture without killing. They were very familiar with the vital points of the human body and avoided those places when they attacked.
Their clothes were so tattered they were unrecognizable, and their elbows and knees were badly lacerated. Several broken sticks lay scattered not far behind them. A rope was tied around their necks, the other end held by a mercenary. Bloodstains were everywhere on the floor, as if they were being used as live targets, beaten indiscriminately.
Xu Ao looked down at the streaks of bright red blood at his feet, his anger reaching its peak. They had no idea what their actions meant.
"Release them! I, as the head of the C country embassy, order you to release them!" Xu Ao said these words in a resounding voice, which echoed in the empty hall filled with the smell of blood.
But less than a minute after he finished speaking, a burst of laughter erupted around him. They were holding ropes and pulling the men back and forth like they were leading dogs. With their rough movements, the men on the ground were in so much pain that they almost fainted. They were showing their contempt for Xu Ao, as well as their ignorance and stupidity.
"I urge you to immediately stop your actions!" Xu Ao said, his voice firm and resolute, barely containing his anger.
“I advise you to give up. They’ve been bored for too long. They’ve finally got some toys delivered to their door, and they want to play with them for a few more days. Don’t worry, they’ll be careful and won’t kill them easily.” Saudi’s voice rang out behind Xu Ao, his tone laced with laughter.
"Do you know what you're doing? They are from country C, and you're doing this..."
"Shh, shh, calm down, don't get so excited. When people are excited, their blood flows faster, and you'll easily lose too much blood. Then we won't be able to stay any longer." Saudi Arabia smiled, but his words sent a chill down Xu Ao's spine.
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, later on, you'll be just like them, or maybe even worse, because my brothers might be more interested in you."
After Saudi Arabia finished speaking, he pointed his finger behind him. Xu Ao saw the mercenaries behind him immediately surround him, their faces filled with bloodthirsty excitement.
"You, uh...!" Xu Ao's mouth was tightly gagged with a strip of cloth, and then his arms were tied behind his back. A long rope was swung down from the beam in the hall, and Xu Ao was hoisted up.
All of this happened too fast for him to react. Saudi Arabia slowly walked up to Xu Ao, but Xu Ao's body was restricted and he could only see the tips of Saudi Arabia's shoes.
Saudi Arabia grabbed Xu Ao's hair and pulled him back, forcing him to look at him. "Now, it's your turn. You think we don't know you've been secretly meeting with those people in the shantytowns? Hmph, those are people who are about to die. They've been starving for so long, they can't even break one of my fingers. What good will they do you? You Chinese have an old saying, 'Use their schemes against them.' I know you pretty well. You heard their screams, you definitely wouldn't ignore them. I wonder why your companion who drove back hasn't come to save you yet? Anyway, I'll help as many as they come. This city is practically a dead city. You'll be buried with it too, hahahaha!"
There's more to Saudi Arabia's words than meets the eye. What does it mean to say they're going to be buried with it? Even if they control the city now, aren't the countries behind them waiting to take it over?
Before he could think it through, Saudi Arabia's smile vanished instantly after he finished speaking. He glared at Xu Ao fiercely for a few moments, forcefully shook off Xu Ao's hair, and then raised his fist to punch Xu Ao hard in the stomach.
Saudi Arabia's punch was powerful; the dull pain in his abdomen almost made him faint. Seeing that he was still clenching his teeth, Xu Ao's behavior enraged Saudi Arabia. With his last punch, he used all his strength, and Xu Ao passed out instantly. Seeing that he was unresponsive, Saudi Arabia finally turned around triumphantly and looked at the mercenaries behind him: "Hmph, rookie!"
A burst of laughter came from behind. Saudi Arabia was very satisfied with their reaction. He turned around and nudged Xu Ao's body, watching him sway back and forth in the air. He seemed to be enjoying himself. He beckoned the mercenaries to bring over a bucket and poured it over Xu Ao's head.
Xu Ao was awakened by the cold water. His brain was dizzy and before he could react, he was punched several times in the face. A piercing pain came from the corner of his mouth and a sweet, metallic smell entered his nostrils. Soon, he was hit hard on the back. Xu Ao could even hear the sound of the wooden stick breaking when it collided with his spine. His snow-white shirt was instantly stained red with blood. The dull pain in his back made him lean back involuntarily, and a muffled groan escaped from the corner of his mouth.
Saudi Arabia seemed quite pleased with his reaction, excitedly grabbing Xu Ao's hair and forcing him to look up and meet his gaze. "How does it feel? Is the pain unbearable? If you beg for mercy, like they did, I'll definitely show you mercy."
As Saudi Arabia spoke, he raised the stick in his hand and pointed it at several men curled up on the floor. Their eyes had been swollen like walnuts from being beaten. When they saw the stick pointing at them, their bodies instinctively shrank back, their faces full of terror.
"I won't beg for mercy, don't even think about it." Xu Ao glanced at him sideways and said these words through gritted teeth.
Saudi Arabia looked at his defiant eyes, sneered, and turned to look at the mercenaries watching the show behind him. Xu Ao's arrogance not only angered him, but also challenged his authority among these mercenaries.
As expected, Saudi Arabia swung the stick at him without mercy, smashing it down hard on his abdomen, back, and knees. After the initial pain, Xu Ao fell unconscious again. Saudi Arabia pushed his swaying body, spat on the ground, and finally threw the stick, which had broken in two, to the ground.
"Wake him up later," Saudi said before going upstairs.
The mercenaries dispersed when they saw that the excitement was over, and in the blink of an eye, only a few men huddled together on the ground and Xu Ao hanging in mid-air remained in the hall.
