Chapter 179: No explanation needed?
Chapter 179: No explanation needed?
Upon hearing the sound, Guan Yu swiftly pulled her hand back. She stammered, "Mom...Han's mom...why...why did you all suddenly come out?"
Standing to the side, Xing Han revealed a sly smile, a smile that seemed to see through everything. She stared at Guan Yu with a half-smile and said, "Xiao Yu, shouldn't you explain this situation to us?"
Guan Yu was somewhat at a loss. She subconsciously scratched her head and her gaze involuntarily turned to Jing Yi beside her.
But she found that Jing Yi was staring at her intently with a burning and focused gaze, a gaze that made her heart race and her cheeks burn even hotter.
In the end, Guan Yu could no longer escape the situation before her. She could only sigh helplessly, grit her teeth, and muster her courage to shout, "Okay! I confess! We...we're dating!!"
The moment the words left his mouth, the quiet atmosphere was instantly shattered.
Si Yun and Xing Han stared wide-eyed, their mouths agape, their faces filled with disbelief, exclaiming in unison, "What?!"
They were clearly shocked by the news and didn't know how to react for a moment.
Finally, Jing Yi left first, and the living room of the Guan residence was eerily quiet. "When did you two start?" Si Yun asked.
“Three years ago,” Guan Yu replied.
"When you went to Beijing with Xiaoming?" Xing Han asked in surprise.
“Yes, Mom, I like him,” Guan Yu said firmly, looking at her mother.
"Xiaoyu, Mom doesn't mean to oppose you. I'm just afraid you'll get hurt." Si Yun sighed, her eyes full of worry.
"Mom, Jing Yi wouldn't hurt me. For the past three years, he has been silently protecting and taking care of me," Guan Yu said softly, holding her mother's hand.
Xing Han listened from the side and gradually felt relieved. "In that case, as long as Xiaoyu is happy, that's all that matters. But Xiaoyu, if you ever suffer any injustice in the future, you must tell your mothers."
Hearing their words, Guan Yu nodded emphatically.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window into Guan Yu's room.
Just as he pushed open the door and was about to leave, he caught a glimpse of a small figure slowly walking down from the third floor.
It was a little girl, barefoot, wearing only a thin garment, as if a gust of wind could blow her over.
Her steps were hesitant and fearful, each step so cautious.
Guan Yu frowned, a hint of doubt rising in his mind.
He shouted, "Uncle Fu!!"
The shout exploded like thunder throughout the room, making even the air seem to tremble.
The little girl trembled in fright at the sudden shout, and her already pale face turned even more bloodless.
She stared in horror at the strange man before her, her lips trembled, and she burst into tears.
Hearing the commotion, Uncle Fu rushed over, and he was stunned when he saw the little girl.
Before Uncle Fu could even explain, Guan Yu, his face full of displeasure, demanded, "Who is she? What's she doing here?"
His tone was clearly one of dissatisfaction and accusation.
Uncle Fu quickly lowered his head and replied respectfully, "Young Master, this young lady was brought back by the eldest young lady."
Guan Yu was even more confused upon hearing this. He shook his head and said, "Xiaoyu? Go and settle her in first."
Seeing the little girl crying so sadly, Guan Yu became increasingly irritable and just wanted to resolve this troublesome matter as soon as possible.
So he immediately gave the order to Uncle Fu.
“Yes, young master.” Uncle Fu replied and turned to walk towards the little girl.
Guan Yu, with a gloomy face, strode quickly toward Guan Yu's room.
Reaching the door, he raised his hand and knocked loudly, calling out, "Guan Yu!!"
"What are you doing?!" Guan Yu was putting on makeup in her room when she heard his voice and said unhappily.
"Come out here! You have three seconds!!"
Guan Yu opened the door, muttering in dissatisfaction, "What?"
Guan Yu pointed downstairs: "What's going on with that girl downstairs?"
Guan Yu glanced at the pitiful little girl sitting on the sofa downstairs and slapped his forehead: "Oh dear, I almost forgot."
As soon as he finished speaking, Guan Yu quickly ran downstairs.
The little girl immediately stopped crying when she saw Guan Yu, got off the sofa, and ran towards Guan Yu, calling out, "Sister~"
Guan Yu took her from her and pulled her back onto the sofa, wiping away her tears. "Why are you crying? Hmm."
"I'm scared, I miss my mom." The little girl's eyes were now filled with tears.
Her petite, trembling body looked extremely uneasy, and she spoke softly with a hint of a sob in her voice.
Guan Yu hugged the little girl tightly with heartache, gently stroking her back and coaxing her softly, "Sweetie, baby, your sister is here with you."
From now on, this will be your new home. Don't worry, everything will be alright.
Just then, Guan Yu strode up to them with a gloomy expression, staring intently at the two people in front of him, and said in a stiff tone, "Aren't you going to explain?"
The little girl, already filled with fear and anxiety, burrowed into Guan Yu's arms in fright upon seeing Guan Yu's icy face.
Seeing this, Guan Yu glared at Guan Yu and scolded him irritably, "Look at you, always with that long face, like someone owes you millions! Look how scared she is!"
After saying that, she turned around and comforted the little girl with a smile: "Don't be afraid, little one. He's actually your older brother, he just doesn't smile much, but he's a very nice person."
"Come on, be brave and tell your brother your name, okay?"
After hearing Guan Yu's words, the little girl hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded timidly and said in a voice barely louder than a mosquito's hum, "Brother... Brother, hello. My name is Lin Yuan, and you can also call me Yuan Yuan."
After she finished speaking, as if afraid of being scolded, she quickly lowered her head, while her small hands tightly gripped Guan Yu's clothes and refused to let go.
Guan Yu was clearly not expecting the little girl to be so timid and cowardly, and was slightly taken aback.
He then awkwardly cleared his throat, coughed a few times to cover it up, said "I'm going to the company now," and hurriedly left.
After Guan Yu left, Guan Yu continued to comfort Lin Yuan. "Yuan Yuan, just stay here and have fun. I'll go get you something delicious."
Guan Yu walked towards the kitchen as she spoke. Lin Yuan nodded obediently, her eyes curiously scanning her surroundings.
Si Yun came down at this moment. Seeing the little girl sitting there obediently, she couldn't help but smile. She walked over to Lin Yuan and squatted down. "Child, are you hungry?"
The little girl shrank back in fear when she saw Si Yun. Lin Yuan shook her head and whispered, "Sister said she went to get some food."
Si Yun patted her head, "What a good girl."
Guan Yu brought over a plate of fruit and snacks and placed it on the table. "Yuan Yuan, come and eat."
"Your name is Yuanyuan?" Si Yun feigned surprise.
The little girl nodded.
On the other side of City A...
"Shen Jia, Lu Chuan, what are you doing here? What about the company?" Chen Fang looked at the two who suddenly appeared, seemingly a little surprised.
"What, you're allowed to come? We can't come?" Shen Jia said, speechless.
"No, it's just..." Chen Fang was about to say something when Lu Chuan interrupted him, "Brother Yi knows."
Seeing this, Chen Fang said nothing more and nodded in tacit agreement, but his eyes kept glancing in Shen Jia's direction.
