Chapter 175 Underground Arena
Chapter 175 Underground Arena
Not long after Mu Yu left, Guan Yu walked down the stairs with steady steps.
He walked up to Shen Chen and stopped, leaning slightly forward and asking in a low voice, "What exactly is that person's background? Have you found out?"
Shen Chen frowned and shook his head, replying, "I asked him that back then, but he didn't say anything."
After he left, I immediately searched online, but I couldn't find any information related to him at all.
I don't know why, but I feel like I've seen this person somewhere before, as if I've met them before, but upon closer reflection, they seem completely unfamiliar.
Guan Yu nodded in agreement: "That's right, not only do you feel this way, but I also feel that he is full of mysteries and secrets."
The moment he walked in, his intense hostility was palpable. There was no doubt that this man was extremely dangerous.
As he spoke, Guan Yu pulled up a chair and sat down opposite Shen Chen.
He elegantly crossed his legs, rested his hands naturally on his knees, and looked unusually serious.
After a moment of silence, Shen Chen suddenly asked, "How did you meet Xiaoyu?"
Guan Yu pondered for a moment, then waved his hand and said, "Let's discuss this matter in detail tomorrow. You should go back and get some rest."
Upon hearing this, Shen Chen responded with an "Mm," then reached for the laptop on the table, carefully put it into his bag, and stood up to leave.
Just as he turned and took his first step, he suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Guan Yu, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just pursed his lips and said nothing.
Immediately afterwards, he walked towards the door again, and his figure quickly disappeared outside.
Seeing that Shen Chen had left, Guan Yu breathed a sigh of relief, stood up and stretched his stiff body, then turned and went upstairs to his room to rest.
The room fell silent instantly, with only the occasional chirping of insects coming from outside the window.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains and fell on Guan Yu's bed.
Suddenly, the silence of the room was shattered by the piercing sound of an alarm clock.
Guan Yu kept her eyes tightly closed, her brows furrowed, and muttered, "So annoying, can't I sleep a little longer?"
However, the annoying alarm clock showed no sign of stopping.
Finally, Guan Yu angrily reached out and threw the alarm clock to the ground.
She sat up in bed, looking irritated, her messy hair resembling a bird's nest.
Guan Yu ran her hands through her hair haphazardly while complaining, "This is so annoying!!"
Finally, she sighed helplessly, threw off the covers, and dragged her heavy steps toward the bathroom to wash up.
After tidying up briefly, Guan Yu came downstairs dressed in casual clothes.
"Mom, Mom..." she called several times, but there was no response from her mother.
Guan Yu couldn't help but feel puzzled, muttering to herself, "Where did Ms. Si go so early in the morning? I can't see a trace of her."
However, she didn't dwell on the issue too much, and instead turned and walked out of the house.
The thought of what she was about to do today instantly made Guan Yu excited.
She walked quickly to the garage, opened the car door, and got into the driver's seat.
After skillfully fastening his seatbelt, Guan Yu put on his headphones and played a cheerful song.
Then, she dialed Feng Ming's number: "Brother Feng Ming, where are you?"
Feng Ming's calm voice came from the other end of the phone: "I'm at my destination now. Oh, right, Li Yuan is here too. He's just waiting for you."
"Okay, I'll be right there!" Guan Yu hung up the phone and stepped on the gas without hesitation.
With a whoosh, the car sped away like an arrow, its speed astonishing.
Before long, Guan Yu successfully arrived at the end of her journey.
This is the largest underground facility in City A, a melting pot of all sorts of gangs, and also the most dangerous place in City A.
However, Guan Yu and her companions did not come here for any particularly important reason; they simply wanted to experience this legendary and mysterious place firsthand.
As she stepped out of the car, she immediately saw Feng Ming and Li Yuan standing side by side, both smiling and seemingly having a pleasant conversation.
Feng Ming was the first to notice Guan Yu's arrival. He quickly raised his hand and waved to Guan Yu, calling out loudly, "Guan Yu, over here!"
Seeing this, Guan Yu rolled her eyes and muttered irritably, "I'm not blind, of course I can see."
After saying that, he deliberately made a disgusted expression.
Hearing this, Feng Ming couldn't help but feel a little helpless, and replied with a wry smile, "Fine, fine, you're just putting on airs."
"Let's go," Li Yuan said, running over and taking Guan Yu's arm.
After the three entered the venue, they were dazzled by the various entertainment facilities, and everyone inside looked fierce and menacing.
They then went to the largest casino in the area, and as soon as they entered, they were greeted by a lively and noisy atmosphere.
Just then, a small, terrified little girl stumbled and ran toward Guan Yu.
Her once fair and delicate skin was now covered with shocking scars, some of which were still oozing blood, making one feel pity.
As the little girl ran, she kept looking back with fearful eyes, as if a terrible demon was chasing her.
When she reached Guan Yu, she stopped, panting heavily, and cried out in a trembling voice, "Sister, please save my mother! Ah Yuan begs you, you must save my mother!"
As she spoke, the little girl stretched out her dirty little hand and tightly gripped Guan Yu's clothes, as if it were the only lifeline she could grasp in this vast sea of people.
Upon seeing this, Feng Ming frowned slightly.
He looked at the pitiful little girl in front of him, and although a trace of sympathy and pity welled up in his heart, reason told him that he could not easily interfere in this matter, so as not to cause himself unnecessary trouble.
So he said to Guan Yu, "Xiao Yu, don't forget why we came here today. It's best if we don't meddle in these kinds of things."
However, the little girl did not seem to give up hope of help. Her big, watery eyes were filled with tears as she pleaded pitifully once again.
"Sister, please have mercy! Save my mother! I'll do anything to save her..."
Just as Guan Yu was hesitating about whether to grant the little girl's request, a series of noisy footsteps suddenly came from not far ahead.
Immediately afterwards, a group of burly, ferocious-looking men appeared before everyone like malevolent demons.
The leader glared angrily, pointed at the little girl, and cursed, "You little bastard, how dare you run away? I'll teach you a lesson today!"
After saying that, the group of people aggressively approached the little girl.
Upon hearing the sound, the little girl immediately hid behind Guan Yu in terror, clutching her clothes tightly.
As the group approached, a bald man at the head sized up Guan Yu and the others, saying, "Who are you? Don't fucking meddle in other people's business."
Upon hearing the voice, Guan Yu first crouched down, her face beaming with a warm and kind smile, and softly said to the little girl in front of her, "Don't be afraid, little sister, I will help you find your mother!"
Hearing Guan Yu's gentle words, the little girl's initial fear gradually subsided.
But her eyes were still glistening with tears, and her body trembled slightly with excitement as she nodded repeatedly in response.
Immediately afterwards, Guan Yu stood up gently and slowly.
Seeing this, Li Yuan, who was standing to the side, hurriedly walked to Guan Yu's side and carefully pulled the little girl in front of him.
At this moment, Guan Yu turned her head, her gaze icy cold, staring intently at the crowd in front of her, and asked expressionlessly, "Where is the child's mother?"
However, the bald man was unmoved and arrogantly shouted at Guan Yu, "Where did this brat come from, daring to cause trouble here? Do you even know where you are...?"
Before she could finish speaking, Guan Yu flashed forward and instantly launched a kick, striking the bald man hard in the abdomen with lightning speed.
With a muffled groan, the bald man was kicked to the ground, curling up in pain.
Guan Yu picked up the knife that had fallen to the ground, rushed to the bald man's side, and pressed the tip of the knife against his neck.
With a chilling tone, he pressed again, "I'll ask you one last time, where is the child's mother?"
