Chapter 6 Next... Time for entertainment.
One minute later.
A brief red notification suddenly appeared in front of Lin Feng's eyes.
His expression remained unchanged; he merely nodded slightly, his pencil still in his hand.
He had studied ghost stories before, and seeing José's situation, he had already guessed that this might be the ending.
Because he foresaw José's impending rage, he needed to finish the painting as quickly as possible.
Perhaps, enough "favor" could earn him privileges such as changing seats.
As soon as the last stroke of the painting was completed, the curtain at the front of the cabin was lifted again.
Xia Ning walked out gracefully, followed by two other flight attendants.
The three women stood in a straight line in the center of the cabin, their emotionless gazes, like cold searchlights, slowly sweeping across the faces of each passenger.
Xia Ning stepped forward, the dim light casting interplay of light and shadow on her stunning profile, adding a touch of eerie mystery to her appearance.
Her voice was sweet, yet completely devoid of emotion:
"Dear passengers, to help alleviate travel fatigue, a small 'entertainment activity' will be held on this flight."
The hearts of all the passengers sank suddenly; an ominous premonition, like an icy tide, instantly overwhelmed everyone.
So-called "entertainment" usually comes at the cost of the lives of the chosen ones, in order to satisfy the perverse pleasures of those lurking in the darkness.
"First segment: Guessing game."
Xia Ning parted her red lips slightly and announced the rules.
"The rules of the game are as follows: I will pose three riddles, and passengers must raise their hands to answer within 10 seconds."
Each puzzle can only be answered by one person.
Those who answer correctly will receive a "Resistance Rule Card," which can be used to resist one rule penalty at a crucial moment.
"If you answer incorrectly, you will be subject to 'punishment'."
"If no one raises their hand to answer within 10 seconds, a passenger will be randomly selected to receive 'punishment'."
A passenger asked in a trembling voice, "What...what kind of punishment is it?"
Xia Ning smiled mysteriously: "You'll find out soon enough."
Her gaze swept across the silent cabin once more.
"First riddle: 'Hidden by day, shining at night, like a bead hanging in the sky. Passengers feel uneasy when they look at it, but it smiles at them.' Guess what 'thing' is on a flight."
As soon as he finished speaking, a deathly silence returned to the cabin.
Only that invisible 10-second countdown is like a death knell tolling in everyone's heart.
Lin Feng's brain was working at lightning speed—
"Hidden during the day, lit at night" excludes portholes (visible during the day) and overhead lights (not always lit at night);
"Like a bead," with a round shape;
"Passengers feel uneasy when they see it, and it smiles at the passengers," clearly indicating surveillance and malice...
It's a surveillance camera!
Just as Lin Feng was about to raise his hand, a voice rang out first.
"Me!" Jason from the United States suddenly raised his hand, his voice hoarse with extreme tension, "It's...it's the star outside the window!"
He explained hastily, "'Hidden during the day'—unseen during the day! 'Bright at night'—only comes out at night!"
"Like a bead"—that's what a star is! "Passengers feel uneasy looking at it"—everything outside the window in this godforsaken place makes you uneasy!
"‘It watches the passengers laugh’—they hang there coldly, flashing, as if mocking us!"
His explanation resonated with many passengers, who nodded in agreement.
However, Xia Ning merely raised an eyebrow: "Answer... wrong. The correct answer is—the in-cabin camera."
An intense fear gripped Jason instantly.
"Now, you're going to be punished." Xia Ning's voice was sickeningly sweet.
A flight attendant stepped forward in response, a gleaming chisel and a small hammer appearing in her hands at some point.
Jason tried to escape in terror, but was firmly strapped to his seat by the seatbelt.
"Listen to the flight attendant, okay? Be good and don't move around~"
The flight attendant's tone was as if she were coaxing a child, but her actions were decisive.
She precisely placed the chisel on Jason's head and brought it down with a swift motion!
With a muffled thud, accompanied by a piercing scream that went so far as to become distorted, a small hole was chiseled open.
The flight attendant took out a strange bottle and slowly poured the eerie, bubbling liquid inside into the opening of the brain.
The next second, a chilling scene unfolded—
Jason's body convulsed violently, his skin peeling and cracking from the inside out, and an indescribable, wet "thing" suddenly broke free from his human skin!
Before the thing could fully appear, a long, scarlet tongue shot out from the shadows behind the cabin, coiled around it, and then retreated back into the darkness, followed by a teeth-grinding chewing sound.
………………
The live stream chat paused for a brief second, then erupted in a frenzy:
"Holy shit! They'll just break open your skull and pour the filling in?! This punishment is way too hardcore!"
"Wow! A double whammy of visual and mental attacks! I've got my nightmare material for tonight!"
"This flight is absolutely alive! It's playing us by the rules, and its ultimate goal is to 'process' the passengers into food!"
"It looks... kind of crispy? (Just kidding)"
"Brother Feng, you absolutely have to hold on! Don't be mistaken! Nobody can take this!"
........................
A deathly silence fell over the cabin, the air thick with the stench of blood and utter terror.
Everyone's breathing became barely audible, for fear of attracting attention.
Xia Ning seemed to thoroughly enjoy the pervasive atmosphere of terror, and instead of rushing to throw out the second riddle, she strolled slowly down the corridor with elegant cat-like steps.
As she passed by Lin Feng, he immediately handed her the portrait he had just finished drawing with both hands.
"I'll give it to you... I'll give it to you." His voice carried a hint of nervousness.
Xia Ning was clearly taken aback for a moment, then took the painting.
When her gaze fell on the paper, her pupils brightened slightly, and the smile on her lips deepened.
"I didn't expect this," she said, her voice tinged with surprise and amusement, "you have this kind of talent, you draw... very well."
Almost simultaneously, a notification popped up in Lin Feng's field of vision:
[Xia Ning's favorability with the mysterious flight attendant increases by 10!]
Current favorability rating: 30/100
Lin Feng secretly breathed a sigh of relief—this risky move had paid off.
Xia Ning's gaze inadvertently swept over Jose, who exuded an ominous aura beside Lin Feng. Her eyes flickered slightly, and then she spoke to Lin Feng and a man sitting in the front row in an unquestionable tone:
"You guys, switch seats."
The man was terrified when he saw José's rotting and grotesque appearance.
"No! I..."
Xia Ning's gaze instantly turned icy, her voice as cold as a winter wind:
"Don't you remember rule number three? All instructions from flight attendants must be obeyed immediately and unconditionally."
The man felt as if he had been choked; all his protests were silenced. He could only resign himself to his fate and slowly shuffle toward Lin Feng's original seat, as if walking toward an execution ground...
