Chapter 117 Ancient King's Armor
Chapter 117 Ancient King's Armor
Chapter 117 Ancient King's Armor
Looking at the ten dragon-shaped arch bridges in front of him, Fang Gu's face was extremely ugly.
"Nine...Nine Deaths and One Life Bridge?" Just hearing this name sent chills down Liu Ru's spine.
Nine deaths!
There are ten arched bridges in total, but only one of them actually leads to the Blood Throne altar; the other nine are all dead zones!
"Nine bridges to death and one bridge to life are mentioned in ancient teachings, but it doesn't specify which one to take," Fang Gu said.
"One out of ten? That's an incredibly low probability," Zhang Xiaohou said, frowning.
"There are six of us here. If we really had to choose, the probability would be about three in five," Mo Fan said with a hint of helplessness.
Fang Gu nodded and said, "That's right. Although doing this would greatly increase the probability, but... do you really want to do this?"
Lu Jie frowned, realizing that this matter was not simple. It was obvious that Fang Gu had a way to get to the Blood Throne altar, but why didn't he say so?
Everyone stared at the bridge before them and fell silent.
How exactly do we cross this bridge?
"You make your own choice." Fang Gu sat down on the ground, clearly knowing how difficult this choice would be, so he gave up.
Bell tower.
"What's there to consider? Everyone takes one bridge, and the probability of success is three in five!" Elder Chu Jia of the Hunter Alliance broke the silence in the conference room, wishing he could make his voice heard by everyone.
"You make it sound so easy. It takes immense courage for them to jump into the Abyss of Evil. Now they face a very difficult choice. It's easy for you to stand here and talk without understanding the pain," Du Xiao said.
"But they don't even think about what they're carrying on their shoulders!" Chu Jia retorted, sounding somewhat unreasonable.
"That was our incompetence, leaving such a heavy responsibility on the shoulders of these young people with no other choice. Whatever choice they make, we should respect and trust them."
"They came to this point not because of personal beliefs or a desire to save the world, but because of their unwavering friendship with those around them, their shared struggles and fearlessness, even though they were alone and facing many difficulties," Du Xiao said.
No one understood this feeling better than him; he had experienced it the moment he became the King of Hunters.
"Lu Jie and Mo Fan came for Zhang Xiaohou, who should be competing for nomination votes right now..."
"Su Xiaoluo saved Zhang Xiaohou's life."
"It seems the other girl jumped into the Abyss of Evil because of Lu Jie."
"If it were me, I would have had a mental breakdown..."
"Yes, this burden is too heavy, it's suffocating."
……
ding~~~
hum~~~
Suddenly, a crisp sound of a blade ringing out rang out, and Fang Gu abruptly stood up and said, "Come with me."
Mo Fan was just about to make a decision, and then Fang Gu pulled this stunt, huh?
Lu Jie quietly put away the Mirror Flower Water Moon. This Fang Valley was indeed up to no good; knowing the location of the Life Bridge, they just wouldn't tell.
They followed Fang Gu onto a bridge.
As they stepped onto the bridge, the Bridge of Nine Deaths and One Life began to collapse. Ancient jade stones broke into countless pieces and fell into the black abyss, where they were then cut into fragments by the black wind!
The only real bridge was the one they stood on, the one that truly led to the tomb altar!
The altar is hidden in endless darkness, like a stone platform that has been floating in the cold, ancient, dark universe for who knows how many years.
The altar was shaped like an ice crown, and the stone steps below were enormous, several times taller than a person. These steps did not seem to be for people to climb, but rather for gods and giants to ascend.
From a distance, red silk ribbons could be seen hanging down from the altar, in bundles, distributed at the corners of each of the giant steps.
When they entered, what they saw was not red silk at all, but a waterfall of blood, thick enough to be gushing down.
At the ridge, the dragon's skull was carved, and waterfalls of blood gushed from its mouth, cascading down high, with a thunderous sound like that of a waterfall.
As you climb the long stone steps, the entire altar begins to shrink in size, becoming narrower and narrower as you go higher, until it becomes so narrow that you can take a single step across it.
"We can see the top of the altar now; that should be the Blood Throne." Su Xiaoluo wiped the sweat from her forehead, a hint of joy appearing on her slightly pale face.
They went through so much hardship to get here, hopefully it's not too late!
They finally reached the last steps, where a huge piece of jade stood atop an altar made of white stones!
The jade is red, crystal clear, and has sharp, pointed edges, making it look like countless swords stuck upside down to form an imposing royal throne...
This is the Blood Throne!
Fang Gu had somehow walked onto the altar and put on the armor from the throne.
"Fang Gu?" Mo Fan exclaimed in surprise.
Lu Jie's eyes narrowed. How did he break free from the control of the Mirror Flower Water Moon?
Fang Gu sat on the Blood Throne, one hand supporting his cheek, his body slightly tilted. The shadow cast by the edge of his helmet perfectly concealed his face. With the help of the altar fire, all that could be seen was his sharp chin and the wicked curve of his lips!
"Oh, I didn't expect you guys to find out after all." Hearing Mo Fan's exclamation, the person sitting above spoke up.
"How did you manage to avoid the illusion of a mirage?" Lu Jie asked in a deep voice.
However, Fang Gu did not answer Lu Jie's question. Instead, he burst into laughter. But the laughter was strange. Although it came from his throat, it felt as if something else was hiding inside his skin, making the sound in his place.
"What are you laughing at?" Su Xiaoluo said angrily.
"You... are unique. You possess a mysterious power that allowed you to evade my mind control." Fang Gu... or rather, to be precise, the ancient king's obsession from his lifetime, tempered by the years, had become one with his armor.
After Fang Gu put on this armor, he was no longer himself.
"You are the lingering remnant of the ancient king. From the moment Fang Gu put on you, his soul was devoured by you!" Lu Jie said in a deep voice.
What?!
Everyone was taken aback and took a step back in disbelief.
"How dare you!" Fang Gu roared, his voice seemingly piercing their very souls.
"I am not dead! I am the Ancient King!"
Fang Gu didn't open his mouth, but the sound seemed to echo all around him.
"Blood, more blood!" Suddenly, Fang Gu's eyes became hollow, as if the pupils had been gouged out, and a ghost or evil spirit might crawl out of them at any moment!
He stood up, his body stiff and sluggish, exuding a frenzied, bloody aura, his mouth open as if he wanted to devour them alive.
"I need more blood!!"
