Chapter 36 72 Transformations
Chapter 36 72 Transformations
Under Ao Ying's resentful gaze, a beam of yellow light landed in front of Jiang Feng.
The yellow light dissipated, revealing an old dragon dressed in colorful clothes.
Upon seeing Ao Ying, the old dragon appeared quite surprised: "Aunt, what are you doing here? Did you make that commotion just now?"
This old dragon was the Jinghe Dragon King. Today, he was drinking and making merry in his dragon palace when he suddenly heard a commotion on the ground. Not knowing what had happened, he came here to check and then saw Jiang Feng and his companions.
Facing his old nephew, Ao Ying proudly raised his little face: "As the Dragon King of Dragon Whiskers, appointed by the Heavenly Court, where else would I be if not here?"
The Dragon King of the Jing River was greatly surprised: "The Heavenly Court appointed you as the Dragon King? When did that happen?"
Ao Ying was taken aback: "Didn't you tell me about this before?"
After thinking for a long time, the Dragon King of the Jing River suddenly slapped his forehead and said with a wry smile, "I saw you tormenting my shrimp soldiers and crab generals all day long, so I came up with an idea to trick you into coming out."
"Dragon Whisker Gully has long been converted into a ditch by the mortal world. How could the Heavenly Court possibly bestow an imperial decree upon the Dragon King here? How come you haven't noticed until now?"
Ao Ying immediately wore a look of utter disbelief: "Huh??!?!"
Jiang Feng: "..."
It seems the case has been solved!
No wonder Ao Ying's petition to the Heavenly Court went unanswered; it turns out she wasn't the Dragon King at all and couldn't communicate with the Heavenly Court!
"So I was never the Dragon King?"
After recovering from the heavy blow, Ao Ying angrily retorted, "You're a bad person too! You're all bad people!"
The Dragon King of the Jing River looked helpless and then asked, "What was that commotion just now?"
Jiang Feng said, "Someone built a dam here, cutting off the water source of Longxu Ditch, and is selling water to the people for profit."
The Dragon King of the Jing River's expression changed several times, and after a moment he let out a long sigh: "As a Dragon King appointed by the Heavenly Court, I cannot kill mortals, otherwise I would be violating the Heavenly Laws. I am powerless to help you with this matter."
Ao Ying clenched her small fists and said angrily, "I'm not the Dragon King, but I can go! I'm going to kill these bad guys!"
Jiang Feng patted her little head: "Still teasing me? You're so young and all you talk about is 'kill, kill, kill!' Are you from Changsha?"
Ao Ying snorted: "I don't kill people often. I've never killed a single person."
Although I am not the real Dragon King of Dragon Beard Gully, over the years I have come to regard the villagers near Dragon Beard Gully as subjects under my jurisdiction. Those who have harmed me, I certainly cannot let them go!
As they were talking, several men dressed as servants arrived at the original location of the dam.
Seeing the dam collapse, they panicked. One of them anxiously asked, "What should we do? Should we inform the head of the family?"
Another person said, "The dam is under Master Liu's supervision. Why don't we go find Master Liu first?"
The group looked at each other and quickly reached a consensus, then headed south together.
Seeing this, Jiang Feng secretly followed them with Cui Ying and Ao Ying.
In a Taoist temple by the Jing River, a middle-aged Taoist priest leaned against a soft couch. The room was brightly lit and decorated in a magnificent style.
A young Taoist priest knelt on the ground, massaging his legs while flattering him, saying, "Today you made several hundred strings of cash selling water. You've built a dam, and you can earn so much money every day. You're truly a genius!"
The Taoist priest smiled smugly: "Serve the master well, and in the future he will teach you profound magic, and you will be just as powerful as the master."
As they were talking, a servant rushed in in a panic: "Master Liu, something terrible has happened! The dam you built has been washed away by the river!"
The Taoist priest sat bolt upright, exclaiming in disbelief, "The dam collapsed? That's impossible! I personally designed and supervised its construction; this dam should have lasted at least three hundred years!"
"That dam can indeed last for three hundred years. You are quite capable, but unfortunately you've used your abilities in the wrong place."
Jiang Feng walked in amidst the Taoist's shocked gaze. After realizing what was happening, he reached under his pillow and pulled out a black command flag.
Holding the command flag in his hand, the Taoist priest calmed down and questioned Jiang Feng, "Who are you, and why have you trespassed into my Taoist temple!"
Jiang Feng glanced at the command flag in his hand. The seal script on it was completely unfamiliar, and he couldn't recognize what the characters were.
"I am the transformed spirit of those who died of thirst, here specifically to take your dog's life!"
After saying that, Jiang Feng took out his hand from behind his back and threw a black dog on the ground.
Taoist priest:"??!!"
No wonder when someone came into the Taoist temple, we didn't hear his dog attacking him; it turns out he was strangled to death!
The Taoist priest, filled with rage, stood up, brandished his command flag in front of him, and shouted fiercely, "Now that you've taken my dog's life, grab all the money in the temple and get out of here, or I'm running away!"
"ha??"
Jiang Feng froze on the spot.
This isn't right. How could you use such an arrogant tone to say such soft words when you're begging for mercy from me?
While Jiang Feng was in a daze, the Taoist suddenly waved his command flag. With a "poof" sound, a wisp of white smoke rose from where he was standing, and the Taoist immediately disappeared.
"You can't escape."
Cui Ying's voice rang out from outside the door, and suddenly a golden light flashed, causing the Taoist priest to fall to the ground from mid-air.
Looking at the Taoist priest sitting on the ground, his face filled with panic, Cui Ying said sharply, "I've cast a 'travel-restricting talisman' on this Taoist temple. Unless your cultivation is ten times stronger than mine, all your escape techniques will be ineffective."
"You disgrace to the Taoist sect, how dare you harm people here! Today, I will act on behalf of Heaven and take your life!"
As she spoke, she flipped her right hand and a yellow talisman flew out, and a bolt of lightning struck the Taoist priest in the chest!
The command flag in the Taoist priest's hand flew up automatically and collided with the oncoming lightning, producing a loud boom.
The yellow talisman and the command flag fell to the ground together, but the Taoist priest stood up unharmed.
Jiang Feng had already come out. He glanced at the trembling Taoist priest and said, "Tell me who your accomplices are, and I'll leave you a whole corpse. You managed to suppress something as serious as blocking the river; you better not say you didn't have accomplices!"
The Taoist's pupils contracted, and he hurriedly begged for mercy, saying, "I was forced by Dugu Ming to build the dam. If I didn't obey, he would take my life! I had no choice but to comply!"
I beg you two to have mercy on me and let me go. I promise I will turn over a new leaf and never do evil again!
Upon hearing this unfamiliar name, Jiang Feng frowned slightly and asked Cui Ying, "Who is Dugu Ming?"
Cui Ying shook her head: "I don't know. I only know Empress Dugu Jialuo and Dugu Luo, the head of the Dugu family."
The Taoist priest's expression changed slightly, and he quickly explained, "Dugu Ming is a servant of the Dugu clan, and he obeys Dugu Tuo's orders."
Upon hearing the name Dugu Tuo, Jiang Feng couldn't help but show a look of sudden realization.
"Oh, it was him!"
Cui Ying asked curiously, "Do you know Dugu Tuo?"
Jiang Feng nodded: "Dugu Tuo is a very powerful person. As far as I know, he has mastered the Seventy-Two Transformations."
Cui Ying's expression changed drastically: "The Seventy-Two Transformations of Earthly Fiends?! Are you sure he's mastered the Seventy-Two Transformations?"
Jiang Feng said with a serious expression, "Some people say he's a dog, some say he's a turtle bastard, some say he's a stupid pig, but no one says he's a human... If this doesn't count as the Seventy-Two Transformations, then what does?"
Cui Ying: "@#¥%¥#@……"
This is just people insulting him!
