Chapter 118 She's My Girlfriend
Chapter 118 She's My Girlfriend
There's a small shop at the end of the alley.
There were two plastic chairs by the door, one empty and the other occupied by Xiao Yunqing.
She held an ice pop in her hand, took a bite, and crunched it.
The streetlights shone overhead, illuminating the patch of ground at her feet in a white light.
She put the popsicle in her mouth and craned her neck to look into the alley.
Whenever footsteps came from inside.
She immediately stood up, the chair slid back a bit, scraping the floor with a creak.
A figure emerged from the shadows.
It's not Song Huan.
It was an older man carrying a plastic bag who glanced at her and walked over.
Xiao Yunqing sat down, took the popsicle out of her mouth, and stared at the half-melted cream on top.
[Why hasn't that idiot Song Huan found me yet?]
She took a bite of the popsicle, a bit too hard, and her teeth sank into it.
Another set of footsteps sounded.
She stood up again, this time so quickly that the chair almost tipped over.
A middle-aged woman walked out, holding a dog on a leash.
The dog sniffed at Xiao Yunqing's feet before being pulled away by the woman.
Xiao Yunqing stood there, looking at the alley entrance.
There's no one here.
She sat down; the popsicle had almost melted, and cream had dripped onto the back of her hand, making it sticky.
She lowered her head and licked it once, then sat back down.
"Oh, little girl, all alone?"
She looked up.
Two men walked out of the alley, one with dyed yellow hair and the other with a shaved head.
The blond-haired man was short and skinny like a bamboo pole, his T-shirt hanging loosely on his body.
He was bald and muscular, with a gold chain around his neck that gleamed under the streetlights.
Xiao Yunqing didn't say anything, and threw the popsicle stick into the trash can at her feet.
The blond-haired man walked over, squatted down next to her, put his hands on his knees, and tilted his head to look at her.
"Waiting for someone?"
Xiao Yunqing moved to the side, and the chair leg scraped against the ground with a sharp sound.
The bald man leaned against the wall, crossed his arms, and grinned.
"Don't be afraid, we just want to be your friend."
Xiao Yunqing stood up, knocking over the chair, which fell to the ground with a thud.
She took a step back.
"My boyfriend is coming right away."
Yellow Hair also stood up and took a step forward.
"Boyfriend? Where is he? I can't see him."
He glanced into the alley, then turned back, his smile widening.
"You're so pretty, your boyfriend doesn't appreciate you at all, leaving you sitting here alone so late at night."
Xiao Yunqing clenched her fists.
She looked at the alley entrance; the lights were on, but no one came out.
[Song Huan, where are you?]
The blond-haired man took another step forward and reached out to touch her shoulder.
"Come on, I'll take you to get something good to eat."
Xiao Yunqing dodged, but her shoulder bumped against the wall, causing a sharp pain.
She didn't say anything, just stared at the hand.
"Don't touch me."
The sound wasn't loud, but it was very clear.
The blond guy paused for a moment, then laughed and glanced back at the bald man.
The bald man laughed too, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
"She has quite a temper."
The blond-haired man turned back and took another step forward.
Xiao Yunqing had nowhere to retreat, her back pressed against the wall, her hands clutching the hem of her skirt.
She stared at the blond-haired man, her chin held high, not looking down.
"I told you, don't touch me."
"I touched it!" the blond-haired man said with a sneer, extending his hand.
"Snapped!"
Xiao Yunqing slapped him across the face, stunning the blond-haired man.
"You fucking dare to hit me..." the blond-haired man roared, just as he was about to strike.
"Little Clouds".
The sound came from the alley; it wasn't loud, but it was very clear.
All three of them looked towards the alley entrance at the same time.
Song Huan stood there, hands in his pockets, the streetlight behind him casting a long shadow.
I can't see their expressions clearly.
Xiao Yunqing's eyes immediately reddened.
She ran past the wall, hid behind him, and clutched the hem of his clothes tightly.
Song Huan didn't turn around.
He looked at the two people in front of him.
The blond-haired man was short and thin, so thin you could see his collarbone. His T-shirt was loose at the neckline, revealing a section of his tanned neck.
The bald guy is a bit muscular, but the muscle is in his stomach; the flesh on his arms is loose, not the kind that comes from hard work.
He's 175cm tall, almost half a head taller than Huang Mao.
He plays ball and runs every day, so his shoulders are wider than his bald head, and the muscles in his arms are solid.
The blond-haired man touched his reddened face, looked him up and down, and curled his lip.
"Hey bro, you two know each other?"
Song Huan didn't say anything.
Yellow Hair rubbed his hands together and took half a step forward.
"We just wanted to invite her out for a meal, that's all."
He smiled, revealing a few yellowed teeth.
"If you're worried, you can come along."
Song Huan looked at him.
The blond-haired man felt a little uneasy under his gaze, his smile faded slightly, but he remained defiant.
"What's wrong? Can't we even have a meal?"
Song Huan spoke up, "She's my girlfriend."
The voice was soft, and the tone was flat.
The blond-haired man was stunned for a moment.
Song Huan continued, "You touched her just now?"
The blond-haired man took half a step back, and his expression changed.
"What do you mean 'touch'? I didn't even touch her hand, and she slapped me. I haven't even made her pay me back yet."
The bald man added, "Yeah, it's not like anything happened."
Song Huan ignored the bald man and looked at the blond man.
The blond-haired man felt uncomfortable under his gaze, turned his head away briefly, and then turned back.
"Brother, give us some face, we're just passing by, it's just a joke."
Song Huan looked at him.
His inner thoughts drifted over, a jumbled mess, like a stray dog whose tail had been stepped on.
[Damn, this kid doesn't look like someone to mess with.]
[But it's just him and the two of us, what are we afraid of?]
[If he attacks, I'll run. It's dark here anyway, he can't catch me if I run.]
[That bald idiot, he'd be the first to run if a fight really broke out.]
Song Huan smiled.
The blond-haired man was stunned for a moment, wondering what he was laughing at.
Song Huan took a step forward.
The blond-haired man took a step back.
"What are you doing?"
Song Huan took another step forward.
The blond guy took another step back and bumped into the bald man.
The bald man helped him up and shrank back a bit himself.
Song Huan stopped and looked at them.
"Do you live around here?"
The blond-haired man didn't say anything.
"The security patrol team in this area makes a round every half hour from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Song Huan glanced towards the alley entrance. "When I came over just now, I saw the patrol team sitting around the corner. Should I call them over for a chat?"
The blond-haired man's face changed.
He turned his head and glanced at the bald man, who was also looking at him.
Song Huan took his hand out of his pocket and pointed forward.
"The police station is just around the corner, only a few steps away. If you don't believe me, I can take you there."
Yellow Hair swallowed hard.
His inner thoughts drifted over again.
[Damn it, we've run into a tough one.]
[There are indeed patrol teams here; I was checked for my ID last time.]
[The police station is right next door, damn it? How come I didn't notice?]
"Alright, alright." The blond-haired man waved his hand and took two steps back. "It's a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding."
He turned and left quickly.
The bald man followed behind, took two steps, glanced back at Song Huan, and then turned back.
The two people disappeared into the alley.
The footsteps faded into the distance and disappeared.
Xiao Yunqing peeked out from behind Song Huan and glanced into the alley.
It was pitch black, and I couldn't see anything.
She loosened her grip on his clothes, her fingers stiff and unable to bend back.
Song Huan turned around and looked at her.
"It's alright now."
She looked down, staring at the tips of her shoes.
One of her shoelaces came undone, but she didn't bother to tie it.
Where did you run off to?
Her voice was soft and slightly hoarse, with the last syllable falling down.
"I was looking for you." Song Huan squatted down and bent down to tie her shoelaces.
She raised her head, her eyes red, her eyelashes glistening with tears, her lips pursed, and her chin trembling.
Song Huan looked at her like that and didn't say anything.
After a while, he took a tissue out of his pocket and handed it to him.
She took it, held it in her hand, and didn't wipe it.
I thought you were gone.
"They didn't leave."
"Then why did it take you so long to come?"
Song Huan didn't answer; he bent down and tied Xiao Yunqing's shoelaces.
At the same time, I was still shaken...
Xiao Yunqing ran so fast, it's a good thing there's Xin Sheng here, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to find her in a while.
The lights in the convenience store were still on. The owner poked his head out from inside, glanced at them, and then went back inside.
Song Huan turned around.
"Next time, don't go that far."
Xiao Yunqing remained silent.
She unfolded the tissue and pressed it against her eyes. After a while, a small patch of the tissue became damp.
She folded it up and put it in her pocket.
"Let's go."
Song Huan didn't move.
"Go back and tell Uncle Xiao."
Xiao Yunqing was stunned for a moment.
"The security here isn't very good; it's too dangerous for a girl to walk alone at night."
He glanced at the alley entrance and said, "Tell him to tell the local police station to send a few more people to patrol tonight."
Xiao Yunqing nodded vigorously. "I'll tell him when I get back."
Song Huan nodded.
"Let's go, I'll take you home."
The two walked out of the alley.
She walked ahead, her pace slower than before, her ponytail hanging down without being swung.
Song Huan followed behind, hands in his pockets.
When they reached the alley entrance, the streetlights came on, casting their shadows on the ground, one in front and one behind.
Xiao Yunqing stopped and looked back at him.
The streetlight shone on her face; her eyes were still red, but the corners of her mouth turned up slightly.
"You just said I'm your girlfriend?"
Song Huan looked at her.
She didn't wait for his reply and turned to continue walking.
She quickened her pace, her ponytail swaying in the streetlights.
Song Huan stood there, watching her figure walk away into the distance.
Did I say that?
He smiled and followed.
