Chapter 248 If You Don’t Like Me, Tell Me
Pu Jing said nothing, walked to the side and sat down, crossing his legs elegantly.
"What are you doing here?" Zhou Rou asked directly.
Pu Jing stared at her, with a smile on his lips, "Let me make a deal with you."
"Oh?" Zhou Rou tilted her head to look at him, her pale face expressionless. "Why should I agree?"
“Because we each take what we need.”
Zhou Rou lowered her head and smiled, "So, what do you think I need?"
Pu Jing spoke word by word: "You need Su Heng."
Zhou Rou's eyes glared, "What do you mean by that?"
He spoke lazily, "If you want to take back the Lu Corporation, your own strength is far from enough. So, you need Su Heng. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that he is your son. It seems that it is no longer a secret now."
Zhou Rou's expression changed slightly, but she remained silent.
He continued, "But behind Su Heng, there's Su Zeqi. Su Zeqi hates you to the core, so naturally, he won't like your son either! Even if you convince Su Heng, Su Zeqi is definitely not a pushover."
Zhou Rou seemed to be lost in thought and did not interrupt him.
Pu Jing smiled at her and said, "I have a solution that would satisfy both parties. Are you interested?"
This time, Zhou Rou did not refuse. She glanced at him and said, "Tell me about it."
"Find a backer, and then completely defeat Su Zeqi! Once Su Heng takes sole control of power, rescuing the Lu family will be a natural outcome." He pulled out a business card from his pocket, "This is the contact information for Zheng Rui, the daughter of the Zheng family. I think you'll need her."
He stood up and said goodbye with a smile: "Sorry to bother you."
Zhou Rou stared at the business card and held it tightly in her hand.
At night, Jiang Man still felt dizzy, but the pain from the wound had eased a lot.
After receiving a call, Pu Jing told Jiang Man that he had to go to the company but would be back soon. However, Jiang Man really felt that there was no need to trouble him so much. After all, their relationship was not that close.
After leaving a brief note, she quietly left the hospital.
She first called Grandma Yang to confirm that Xuanxuan was fine, and then she returned home with peace of mind.
Looking around, Jiang Man did not find any signs of Su Heng's return, and his reaction was unusually calm.
Back in the bedroom, she curled up on the bed, thinking back on everything she had experienced in the past two days, feeling exhausted.
The night is deep.
There was the sound of a key being inserted into the lock, followed by familiar footsteps.
Jiang Man sat up, and when he saw Su Heng, his heart finally relaxed. But then, his anger surged like a tide.
"Where have you been? Why didn't you answer my call?"
His eyes were bloodshot and his clothes were wrinkled, as if he had not slept all night.
Jiang Man smiled at him and said, "I went to Grandma Yang's place, and my phone ran out of battery." After a pause, she asked, "Maybe I was so sound asleep that I didn't notice you coming back last night. What time did you come back?"
Perhaps he sensed her low mood, and the question he was about to ask was swallowed back. He was silent for a moment, then said, "Three o'clock."
Jiang Man suddenly felt a surge of sadness in his heart, and the feeling spread throughout his body as if it was slowly being pulled away.
"Oh," she quickly lowered her head, her voice trembling unconcealably, "it turns out it's already so late."
Su Heng frowned, noticing something was wrong with her, and walked to the bedside and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Jiang Man turned away quickly, not wanting him to see her tears, "I'm fine"
She didn't want to cry, but for some reason, when she faced him, especially when he lied, her heart was broken and her tears fell uncontrollably.
Su Heng's brows knitted even tighter. He suddenly grabbed her shoulders and tried to pull her towards him, "Jiang Man."
Unexpectedly, Jiang Man let out a muffled groan and his body stiffened instantly.
Su Heng looked at her puzzledly: "What's wrong with you?" he asked in a deep voice.
Jiang Man remained silent, lowered his head, and refused to face him.
Su Heng no longer hesitated, pinched her cheeks and forced her to raise her head
He was stunned. Her eyes were red and swollen, and her cheeks were soaked with tears. His face turned pale in an instant, and he asked in a deep voice, "Did someone bully you?"
Jiang Man shook her head, unable to utter a word, but her tears fell even more violently.
After a long time, she finally stopped crying and said, "Su Heng, if I mean if, you don't like me that much. Then please tell me, and I will never pester you. But please tell me!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the atmosphere around her instantly dropped to freezing point.
Su Heng froze while holding her hand, then slowly let go. He remained silent, just looking at her with unfamiliar eyes, the temperature in his eyes dropping to zero.
He took a deep breath and said word by word: "Jiang Man, if you have the courage, say it again."
Jiang Man looked at him and bit her lip. "I said, if you don't like me, just let me go. Don't use liking me as an excuse to fill your temporary emptiness."
Su Heng looked at her and suddenly pressed her shoulders, increasing the strength of his hands. A low and hoarse voice passed through her eardrums, "Do you know what you are saying?!"
Before Jiang Man could react, her face suddenly lost all color. The pain from the wound made her cry out, "Ah!"
Su Heng was stunned, and felt the wetness on his palm. He looked down and saw blood! He was stunned for a moment, and then looked up at Jiang Man again, only to see that she had fainted in his arms.
When Jiang Man woke up again, he found himself still in the ward.
She sighed helplessly, wondering what bad luck had befallen her. Couldn't she just wake up somewhere else?
Su Heng stood beside her bed, his brows furrowed.
When Jiang Man caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of his eye, he immediately closed his eyes again, pretending that he had not woken up yet.
Su Heng hesitated to speak, and finally just sighed softly. Then he sat down on the bed and reached out to brush away the hair on her cheek. "How long are you going to be angry?"
Jiang Man was silent for a long time before slowly opening his eyes.
Su Heng stared at her with a deep gaze, "What's the matter with the injury on your shoulder?"
Jiang Man avoided his gaze and said lightly, "I was bitten by a dog."
Su Heng knew that she was not lying. He had already asked the doctor, and it was indeed a dog bite, and the wound had been treated. It was just that he accidentally touched her wound just now.
His face was full of remorse.
His eyes were dim, and he looked at her again and asked, "Why did you say those things?"
"What words?" She pretended to be confused.
She was playing dumb, Su Heng was dissatisfied. He bent down and looked into her eyes. Jiang Man still tried her best to avoid his sight. "Could it be that you are angry because I failed to take care of you?"
Jiang Man paused for a moment, then smiled bitterly. So, that's what he thought.
