Demon Slayer: The Journey That Began When I Became Yoriichi's Sister

Chapter 500 The Girl Who Is Forever 25

Chapter 500 The Girl Who Is Forever 25

"Long time no see, everyone."

In the town, in front of Yuko's former residence, sixteen-year-old Tanjiro greeted the visitors with a smile.

In just six months, the child had grown taller and his short hair had grown into a medium-length style, tied back on his head.

Red markings appeared on his face as he waved cheerfully to the crowd.

Yuko stared blankly, her mind involuntarily recalling Yoriichi's face.

They really do look alike...

Aside from personality, they are similar in every sense of the word...

It wasn't just Ikuko who noticed Tanjiro's appearance problem; Shinobu Kocho did too.

"You two really do look more and more alike." Shinobu Kocho walked up to Tanjiro, circled him twice, and then cast a surprised look at Ikuko. "Ikuko, are you really not related to the Kamado family at all?"

Yuko snapped out of her daze and glanced at Shinobu Kocho: "Of course it's related."

Shinobu Kocho's purple eyes widened slightly: "Eh? Really?"

"Our friendship with the Zao family can be traced back to the Warring States period. Don't you think there's a connection?"

Shinobu Kocho: “…”

"To be honest, when I first saw Yuko, I thought she was a relative of my father." When talking about appearance, Nezuko couldn't help but think of the scene when they first met. "Yuko really looks a lot like my father."

“Maybe this is fate.” Yuko smiled, looked at Tanjiro, and said with emotion, “You’ve grown taller, Tanjiro.”

Tanjiro scratched his head shyly: "Really? I didn't notice at all."

"Of course he is. He's at least half a head taller than he was six months ago." Yuko gestured Tanjiro's height with one hand, while using the other to find a reference point, finally placing it on Shinobu's head.

Shinobu Kocho narrowed her eyes slightly: "Yuko, that's going too far."

Tanjiro chuckled and smoothed things over, saying, "By the way, didn't Kanae come?"

Yuko advised, "Tanjiro, you should greet Kanao first, and then ask the others."

Kanao paused for a moment, looking at Yuuko with a blank expression, not understanding what she meant by suddenly mentioning her.

Tanjiro coughed twice, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

Yuko didn't torment him any further and answered Tanjiro's question: "Well, as for Kanae, she said that instead of going far away to find you, she'd rather go and have some alone time with that white-haired guy."

"Yuko~" Shinobu Kocho finally couldn't hold back any longer and pinched Yuko's waist with both hands, making her feel ticklish.

After the two played around for a while, Shinobu explained to Tanjiro, "My sister has to take care of the clinic, so she asked us to send her greetings on her behalf."

"Mr. Shinazugawa also stayed at the clinic to help out."

However, only Kanae and the three Shinazugawa brothers did not come; the three little ones, including Kanzaki Aoi, all came.

After Yuko greeted Tanjiro and Nezuko, the three little ones also went up to Tanjiro and circled around him.

"It's been a long time, Tanjiro."

"Long time no see, how have you been?"

Tanjiro placed his hands on his knees, squatted down slightly, and greeted the three little ones earnestly.

That's probably why so many people like Tanjiro.

Nezuko watched this scene with a smile, then looked up at Yuuko and said, "Yuuko-nee, Shinobu-nee, let's go inside and talk."

Yu Zi nodded slightly: "Yes, sorry to bother you."

Having already learned that Yuko and the others were coming to visit today, the Kamado family had come down the mountain and arrived in town ahead of time.

Yuko left the house for Zenitsu and Grandpa Kuwajima to live in. While Zenitsu would occasionally go up the mountain to visit them, Tanjiro and Nezuko would also occasionally come down the mountain to take care of Grandpa Kuwajima, sometimes bringing down some local specialties from the mountain.

If it gets too late, it's common for them to stay overnight at each other's homes; the two families are closer than one.

Upon entering the house, one could see the children of the Zao family playing in the yard. The town had just experienced a heavy snowfall the previous night, and the yard was covered with a layer of snow, providing space for the children to have a snowball fight.

As soon as they saw the group, the children swarmed around Yu Zi and the others, their little mouths beckoning them sweetly.

The memories of staying at the Butterfly's house during the summer festival had not yet faded from their minds.

The older sisters of the Butterfly family took care of their daily needs and took them around the temple fair every day.

In the corridor, Kamado Aoi came out of the kitchen carrying tea, smiling and nodding.

Zenitsu, dressed in winter clothes, walked out of the house looking timid. He breathed into his palms and rubbed his hands together, saying, "You've finally arrived. I almost thought you got lost on the way."

Kamado Aoi greeted everyone with a smile, "Please come inside and have a seat, everyone."

"It's been a long time, Aoi-nee-san." Yuko nodded slightly.

Although Kamado Aoi now knows Ikuko's identity and that she is old enough to be her ancestor, Ikuko still hasn't corrected the way she's addressed her.

In her own words, she is a girl who is forever twenty-five.

Although her words drew disapproving looks from everyone, Kamado Aoi was still happy to accept Ikuko's address.

Ultimately, it was Kamado Aoi who felt awkward, rather than Yuko. Since Yuko herself didn't care, Aoi naturally wouldn't mind either.

Upon entering the house, one finds charcoal burning in the main hall, instantly warming the room.

"I'll go wake Grandpa up," Zenitsu said, and left the hall.

“Eh? No need, let the old man rest more…” Yuko reached out to call him back, but Zenitsu had already disappeared around the corner.

Kamado Aoi smiled and said, "It's alright. Zenitsu usually wakes up Mr. Kuwajima around this time every day."

"Is that right?"

Tanjiro added some charcoal and said, "Recently, very few people in town have been burning charcoal. Most of the time, we can only use the charcoal ourselves."

“Times have changed.” Yu Zi smiled.

From now on, everyone will have central heating, so there won't be any need for charcoal.

Tanjiro remarked, "Yes, before leaving the town, I could never have imagined that trains existed."

Mao stretched out his arms wide, exclaiming exaggeratedly, "It's really huge!"

Yuko joked, "This reminds me of when you guys rode the Infinite Train. Back then, I really wanted to pretend I didn't know you."

"Haha~" Tanjiro scratched his head, "Thinking back on it, it was really embarrassing."

"Huh? Did my brother do anything embarrassing?"

Tanjiro coughed twice: "Yes, right... but Zenitsu was much more embarrassing than me back then."

"Tanjiro! I heard that!" Hurried footsteps came from the corridor. Zenitsu slammed on the brakes and stopped in front of the room, rushed in and grabbed Tanjiro's collar. "You said bad things about me, didn't you?"

Everyone turned to look behind Zenitsu, where an old man emanating black energy raised his cane high.

……

boom!
