Chapter 1202 - 934: Feeding Experiment_2
Chapter 1202 - 934: Feeding Experiment_2
"What difference does it make if I don’t say anything?" Tian Kuo stiffened his neck, looking as unfazed as a dead pig in boiling water.
Jiang Yuan didn’t bother arguing and flicked his right hand, sending the Soul Hook striking out!
[Mysterious Soul Fragment +1]
The sensation of having a piece of one’s soul forcibly torn away was unbearably painful. Tian Kuo screamed, "What kind of evil technique is this?"
[Mysterious Soul Fragment +1]
[...+1]
...
Experiments showed that cultivators of lower realms turned into mysterious fragments yield fewer pieces. Only thirteen fragments were hooked off, and the opponent’s form became semi-transparent, their pleading voice weak to the extreme.
"I’m sorry, I was wrong! I’ll tell you everything, just spare my life..." Tian Kuo curled up in the net, looking like a ghost at first glance.
Old Master gave him a disdainful glance, "Why didn’t you do this earlier? Foolish! You don’t even have the vision to judge the opponent’s strength, too stupid."
Tian Cheng’s newly lifted spirits were instantly deflated but still couldn’t escape being fragmented.
The half-dead new mysterious being could only squat obediently in the net and confess the pill formula.
Jiang Yuan curiously stepped forward for a look and the first item of the Puppet Pill formula came into view: "Extract a human brain alive," preferably a healthy mortal under sixteen years of age.
What was even more infuriating was that, for just this item alone, four were required.
Which meant, regardless of whether the refinement succeeded, collecting materials required four living people to die tragically, with actions taken while they were still alive...
"No wonder you can’t escape the critic’s eyes, refining this evil potion must cost so many lives!" he thought, feeling that extracting their lifespan and keeping the two evil cultivators as mysterious beings for endless fragmentation wasn’t enough to vent his anger!
Tian Kuo shivered while speaking softly, "After falling to evil cultivation, who cares about that?
Killing mortals is as simple as squashing an ant. Besides, in some remote places, mortals would voluntarily select qualified kin to be offered to the ’Immortal Master’. Compared to that, human lives are among the simplest and most convenient materials to source."
"Aren’t you afraid of being struck into obliteration during Thunder Tribulation Crossing when you violate lives like this?"
Facing the question, Tian Cheng twitched his mouth, "To be frank, if not a prodigy in cultivation or extremely fortunate with consecutive opportunities, cultivators like us with mediocre aptitude often can’t advance realms after the Enlightenment Realm throughout our lives.
The two of us are self-aware. Human cultivators have short lifespans; becoming a dominant force in a high realm is just an elusive dream, better to be realistic.
Live one day, enjoy one day, and if it’s time for Thunder Tribulation and we get struck dead, so be it. It’s better than living a dull life without enjoying anything."
"That cultivator surnamed Qian refused to believe me, not allowing anyone near him. It’s because you kept implanting the idea of harming him, correct?" Jiang Yuan continued to ask, "Is there a solution to this idea? How long is the effect of a Puppet Pill once consumed?"
Tian Kuo hurriedly replied, "The pill’s effect varies from person to person, but generally, after consuming a Second Grade Puppet Pill, the control and spreading influence can last approximately two months.
A cultivator who consumes the Puppet Pill will have a small red dot appear on the back of their neck. When this red dot fades, the pill’s power starts to weaken.
However, the pill is meant to assist in the smoother control of others through the Puppetry Technique. Even if the red dot disappears and the pill’s effect ends, as long as the subject remains under the Puppetry Technique control, they cannot awake.
Some cultivators with weak resolve might retain the implanted thought for years, even without the pill’s effect or continued Puppetry Technique control.
For example, the Qian surnamed one had already experienced a disaster of cataclysmic proportions and struggled to survive in a desert. Environmental impact affected his mindset, then he ingested the Puppet Pill and was controlled by the Puppetry Technique.
If he’s fortunate enough to drift in the void and still manage to find a place to survive, he might never rid that thought—always feeling that others would harm him, no matter where he goes or who he meets."
"Jiang, listening to this, the Puppet Pill and Puppetry Technique seem potent when used correctly," Old Master suggested, "If you want to try, it’s not impossible. If you encounter another displeasing evil cultivator, bring them, and I can assist in extracting their brain alive. How about that?"
It leaned closer and whispered, "Though it’s evil techniques, it’s not much if used on bad people. Think about it, if some suitable subjects were controlled by this, letting them search for treasures and work for you, wouldn’t it be more effective than ordinary subordinates?"
Evil techniques used for righteous paths could accomplish significant tasks.
The problem was Jiang Yuan wasn’t sure if he could control it, so he nodded and casually replied, "You first write down all they said, spare their lives for now, and I will return in a few days to decide their fate."
After clicking to exit the instance, as Jiang Yuan returned to the Immortal Shuttle, Ling Di excitedly ran over, "Master, my excitement has nearly subsided, may I attempt to go into closed cultivation and begin refining divine power?"
"Of course, I’ll help you find a suitable retreat spot." He clicked open a page; currently the Riverfront Village instance contains fragments of ordinary worlds, with mortals living inside;
The Mizhang Ridge instance holds spiritual energy-rich world fragments, where surviving cultivators temporarily reside; extremity-bound fragments suitable for demon beast survival are sealed in the still closed Flame Sea instance.
Upon clicking to view the Mizhang Ridge map details, a 3D model that could be zoomed in and out freely appeared in view.
With a few swipes, Jiang Yuan found a forest without any cultivator activities or residences.
Sliding to enlarge the scene, the view entered the forest where towering trees cast dappled light and shadow, birds singing to enhance the tranquility.
"Follow me." He led Ling Di directly to the chosen spot, pointing to a small hill in the distance, "This place is rich in spiritual energy and undisturbed, there’s a cave there where you can retreat in peace. When you wish to exit, inform me with the Communication Stone."
"Thank you, Master! Please summon me if you need anything!" The old dog wagged its tail joyfully, trotting off eagerly towards the temporary retreat.
Back inside the Immortal Shuttle, Jiang Yuan stared blankly towards the endpoint, Jasper Pool Immortal Realm, on the Void Detector. At the current speed, it would take another half-month to arrive, leaving the true nature of that place a mystery.
The subsequent time turned formulaic.
Each rescue coordinate involved a brief stop, with most fragments categorically merging with the existing instance, excluding a few so barren that even the system wasn’t interested enough to collect them.
And some suspicious folks preferred not to accept transition to a new world; Yun Shu respected their choice, allowing them to stay or leave. Most of the remaining time, they all resided in the rapidly traversing void aboard the Immortal Shuttle, each doing things they enjoyed.
As the last week of autumn approached, it was finally time to set off for the ultimate destination of this void journey—the coordinates of Jasper Pool Immortal Realm.
With over a dozen hours of flight ahead, Jiang Yuan had ample time to handle trivial affairs; once the courtyard was arranged, he clicked to enter the experimental instance of ’breeding’ mysterious beings.
"Jiang, you’ve arrived!"
Old Master sensed his presence and immediately trotted out from the room, presenting the written copies of pill formulas and cultivation techniques, lowering his voice, "Quickly get rid of these two fools. I don’t even want to play chess with idiots—how could these minds be evil cultivators? No wonder their master noticed."
Jiang Yuan was perplexed, "What happened? Did you not get along?"
Their opponent grimaced and waved, "Mainly they’re too stupid, honestly, even now they can’t differentiate between the kings in a card deck.
The brothers are secretly plotting to escape and spread mysterious pollution globally, then rule as overlords. Isn’t that nonsense?"
It seemed that the Outer Heaven Demon secretly added something during the creation of the mysterious form.
Any being turned mysterious would inevitably develop the notion of spreading the pollution, deeply embedded; Old Master figuring out how to rationalize this made it exceptionally rare.
"What’s more laughable is, you didn’t kill them last time so they could write down techniques, and they really thought they could, even scheming to rope me in to possess you!" Old Master snorted coldly, "Thanks to them, I’ve had to lock up good food to feel at ease."
They even dared to consider possessing me?
Jiang Yuan chuckled after listening, pushing open the room containing the two brothers Tian Cheng and Tian Kuo, his spirits uplifted upon seeing their progress—sustained on three simple meals a day, the status of the two new mysterious beings’ health bars was nearly full after ten days.
The breeding plan was feasible!
